Stampin' Up! Early Espresso

This week, week 18 in the Colour Creations blog hop we continue our journey  featuring all of the Core Stampin' Up! colours, in alphabetical order. This week's feature colour  Early Espresso, is a member of the Neutrals colour group and is a very dark brown colour.

This week I have decided to go back to one of my most favourite Stampin' Up! bundles, Natures Harvest as I thought it was a perfect way to feature Early Espresso. I have however teamed it with a great sentiment stamp set, Very Best Occasions.

To start this card I stamped the Gerbera image using Memento Black and then coloured it using Petal Pink and Soft Succulent Stampin Blends. I then die cut this using the corresponding die. I have then mounted this using Dimensionals on a piece of Basic White cardstock and then onto a Piece of Early Espresso cardstock. Both of these have been die cut using the Deckled Rectangles dies.

I have then mounted this on a piece of the Abigail Rose paper that I have stamped off the "splatter"stamp from Quiet Meadow using Early Espresso. I have also sponged around the edges of this paper using the same inkpad. I have then embossed this piece of paper using the Timeworn Type embossing folder to give it some texture. You can see a close up here of that.

I have then mounted all of this onto a piece of Early Espresso cardstock and then onto Basic White.

The sentiment is from Very Best Occasions and has been stamped in Early Espresso and die cut using one of the Stylish Shapes dies. I have wound some Linen Thread around the body of then card under the sentiment. Finally I have added some of the beautiful Rustic Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the talented    Dianne Furniss   I look forward to seeing her lovely creation.

Heart of Christmas Week 9

Welcome to Week 9 of the Art With Heart Heart of Christmas. This year we will be hopping weekly until the end of November, so hopefully we can provide you with some festive inspiration. Our host for this year's blog hop is the lovely Sharon Davern.

After using the Spruced Up Outline dies in last week's card I decided I wanted to have another play with the dies but this time the tree outline die.

To start with I cut strips of Pear Pizazz, Granny Apple Green, Garden Green, Evening Evergreen and Early Espresso and glued them to a piece of random cardstock. I then die cut these pieces using the largest tree outline keeping both the outline piece and the inner piece.

I then glued these to a piece of Basic White cardstock that has been embossed using the beautiful Whimsical Woodland 3D embossing folder. I have then added stars to each of the trees that have been cut using Real Red Glimmer paper and the star dies from the same set.

The sentiment is from the Brightest Glow stamp set and has been stamped in Garden Green and die cut using the corresponding die from Labels Aglow.

Finally I have wrapped a piece of Garden Green ribbon around the band of the card and tied a piece of that and the matching Real Red ribbon around the band. I have also added a couple of In Colour Opal Rounds to the sentiment panel.

Next on tonight's blog hop is the talented Cathy Proctor. Click on the button below and it should take you to her blog where you can see her lovely Christmas creation.

Stampin' Up! Daffodil Delight

This week, week 17 in the Colour Creations blog hop we continue our journey  featuring all of the Core Stampin' Up! colours, in alphabetical order. This week's feature colour  Daffodil Delight, is a member of the Brights colour group and is a lovely sunshiny yellow colour.

This week I decided it was time to finally ink up the stamp set Fresh Cut Flowers as next month Stampin' Up are offering a promotion involving coordinating dies for this stamp set and a few others, so for those who prefer not to fussy cut, this is a perfect alternate. I have chosen to pair Daffodil Delight with White and Old Olive which is an old favourite colour combination for me.  I have also used this card to "break open" my new Split Card Textures dies.

My first point for this card was to stamp the floral image in Memento Black and then colour it using Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Stampin' Blends. I then die cut this image using the coordinating die. Whilst I had the die set out, I also die cut a couple of the sprigs in Old Olive and Daffodil Delight to mount behind the floral image.

One of the other dies in the Fresh Cut Stems Dies is the herringbone type die that I have used on the edge of the card.

Next I have die cut a piece of Basic White cardstock using one of the Split card Textures dies and adhered this to a piece of the Design a Daydream Host Designer Series Paper. I have then glued all of the Floral and sprig images to this.

The sentiment is from the very useful stamp set Go To Greetings and has been stamped in Old Olive and then die cut using one of the dies from the Holly Berry dies.

Finally I have added a few Glossy Dots in Daffodil Delight and small bow in Old Olive from the Twill Ribbon Combo pack.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Christine Blain. I look forward to seeing her lovely creation.

Heart of Christmas Week 8

Welcome to Week 8 of the Art With Heart Heart of Christmas. This year we will be hopping weekly until the end of November, so hopefully we can provide you with some festive inspiration. Our host for this year's blog hop is the lovely Sharon Davern.

My starting point for this week's card was one of the very cute Santa Express Memories and More cards and then I just worked around that.

I then took 2 pieces of the Silver dotty Designer Series Paper that you can earn for free during Salebration. Using the Stampin Blend brushes and an inkpad I coloured one of them using Poppy Parade and the other using Shaded Spruce. I then die cut each of these using the Scalloped Contoured dies. I mounted the Memories and More card on to the Shaded Spruce piece first folloowed by the Poppy Parade piece.

I then mounted all of this onto one of the Santa Express Memories and More cards. For some added interest I die cut a few presents using the Present die from the Spruced Up Outline dies using White Glimmer paper and used Shaded Spruce and Petal Pink as the filling.

Across the top of the Memories and More card I have added a couple of light strings that are using die cut using one of the Spruced Up Outline dies and I have coloured the lightbulbs using Shaded Price and Poppy Parade Stampin Blends (an idea I have CASED from Christine Blain my upline).

Finally I have added some Adhesive Backed Pearls to both the presents and the corners of the Memories and More card.

Have you noticed that up until now there has been NO stampin used in the making of this card? Well I couldn't let that be the case so I decided to stamp a lovely greeting from Very Best Occasions on the inside of the card using Poppy Parade. I also added a couple of presne outline die cuts in Shaded Spruce and Petal Pink.

Stampin' Up! Crushed Curry

This week, week 16 in the Colour Creations blog hop we continue our journey  featuring all of the Core Stampin' Up! colours, in alphabetical order. This week's feature colour  Crushed Curry, is a member of the Regals colour group. Crushed Curry is quite a polarizing colour and whilst other members of this blog hop were glad to be done with this colour, I personally don't mind it. It's not a colour I use a lot but when I do, I like it.

When planning my card for this week I always had in mind that I wanted to team Crushed Curry with Black and White and maybe a pop of another colour. I was also wanting to use some of the gorgeous Gingham Cottage paper from the current mini. I was also planning to make another card that wasn't floral.

Fortunately the Gingham Cottage paper has both Crushed Curry and Black and White papers so they were my starting point for the card. I die cut both of these pieces using the Deckled Rectangle dies and mounted them on a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock that had been randomly stamped using one of the stamps from Framed Occasions, in Crushed Curry. This was then mounted on a piece of Black cardstock giving a narrow frame so as to not be too overpowering.

The sentiment is also from Framed Occasions and has been stamped with Versamark on Black cardstock and then embossed in White. I have also used the circular frame stamp from the same stamp set, in the same manner. This has then been die cut using one of the Beautiful Shapes dies and then mounted on a piece of Vellum that has also been die cut using largest circular die that has embossing on it as well but it is a bit hard to see in the photo.

For the pop of colour I decided to use the balloon stamp from the Celebrate With Tags bundle from the current mini. I did this in Calypso Coral. I love how the stamp has a matching die so there's no fussy cutting! Finally as you can see in the photo above I have added a bow using both White and Black Bakers Twine to emulate holding the bunch of balloons together. I have also added a couple of Classic Matte Dots in Black.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Rosa Leyden. I look forward to seeing her lovely creation.

Heart of Christmas Week 7

Welcome to Week 7 of the Art With Heart Heart of Christmas. This year we will be hopping weekly until the end of November, so hopefully we can provide you with some festive inspiration. Our host for this year's blog hop is the lovely Sharon Davern.

Being a bit time poor this week I have let one of the beautiful papers from the Boughs Of Holly pack bee the main feature of my card. With such beautiful paper it's not hard to create cards with.

I have chosen 2 of the papers although it is hard to see the second one under the greeting but I can tell you that the piece is a mixture of mottled reds and greens. For my staring point I embossed the paper using one of the Wintry 3D embossing folders. By doing this is seems to have added a bit more texture to the poinsettias as well. The sentiment panel has been cut from Basic White and I have combined 2 of the sentiments and stamped in Real Red. This has then been mounted on the mottled paper which has also been edged with Real Red Glimmer paper. I have also die cut a couple of holly leaves from the Leaves of Holly bundle using Old Olive and Shaded Spruce. The berries have been die cut using Real Red cardstock and the highlights using Real Red Glimmer paper. I have then added Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the stamen ends. As the paper is just so beautiful I thought I'd also decorate the envelope to match.

Stampin' Up! Crumb Cake

This week, week 15 in the Colour Creations blog hop we continue our journey  featuring all of the Core Stampin' Up! colours, in alphabetical order. This week's feature colour  Crumb Cake, is a member of the Neutrals colour group.

For my card this week I have chosen to team Crumb Cake up with Balmy Blue and Very Vanilla and a hint of Old Olive and Copper. Unfortunately of late I have had to turn to my stash of Condolence cards and so am needing to replenish it. This card doesn't necessarily need to be used for Condolences but can also be used just to let someone know they are in your thoughts.

My starting point for this card was to choose a piece of the Abigail Rose paper and colour it using Stampin Blends of Balmy Blue and Old Olive. I then thought that this paper was a bit "flat"so decided to emboss it using the subtle Timeworn Type embossing folder to give it a bit more texture.

I have then die cut some twig stems from the Meadow dies using Crumb cake cardstock. For the floral stem I die cut it using Very Vanilla and then coloured it using Old Olive and Balmy Blue Stampin Blends.

The sentiment is from the relatively new Go To Greeting stamp set and I have stamped it on to Crumb Cake cardstock and then embossed it using Copper powder. I have also used another of the Meadow dies to die cut the sentiment. When photographing the card as a whole I found it very hard to capture the copper embossing so here is a close up instead.

Finally I have added a bow using the Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake Bakers Twine from the Bakers Twine Essentials pack, and coordinating with the sentiment panel added a few Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots in Copper.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Rachel Palmieri. I look forward to seeing her lovely creation.

Stampin' Up! Coastal Cabana

This week, week 14 in the Colour Creations blog hop we continue our journey  featuring all of the Core Stampin' Up! colours, in alphabetical order. This week's feature colour is Coastal Cabana, is a member of the Brights colour group.

For my card this week I decided that I needed to add to my general birthday card stash as when I was tidying up recently I found that most of my birthday cards were distinctly feminine.  With this in mind I decided to use the Charming Sentiments bundle and in particular some of the dies from the Sentiment Silhouettes dies.

My starting point for my card was one of the reverse side pieces of paper from the Hues of Happiness paper pack which features numerous colours, one of which is Coastal Cabana. I have then chosen another piece of paper from the Perfectly Penciled paper pack and coloured the white sections using a blending brush and the Coastal Cabana ink pad.

I then used the jagged die from the Basic Borders die set to cut this coloured paper. I then joined the 2 pieces of paper together and wrapped a piece of Black and White Gingham ribbon around the band.

Using the Fabulous Frames dies I die cut a piece of Coastal Cabana and White cardstock. I have used the Coastal Cabana piece for the frame and the White for the centre. I thought that the plain white needed a lift so embossed it using the Painted Texture 3D embossing folder.

I have then die cut the candles from the Sentiments Silhouettes dies in Coastal Cabana, Flirty Flamingo Fresh Freesia, and Daffodil Delight. I have also die cut the smaller stars and star frames from the same colours.

For the flame on the candles I have used Gold Glimmer paper from the current mini catalogue.

Both of the sentiments have been white embossed on Coastal Cabana cardstock.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Michele Taylor. I look forward to seeing her lovely creation.

Heart of Christmas Week 5

Welcome to Week 5 of the Art With Heart Heart of Christmas. This year we will be hopping weekly until the end of November, so hopefully we can provide you with some festive inspiration. Our host for this year's blog hop is the lovely Sharon Davern.

After admiring a card I saw recently on the Demonstrator Planning Place Facebook group created by Tammy Wilson, I loved it so much that I had to CASE it. Unfortunately for some reason I am unable to post the link to her blog here but here is my version.

The thing that appealed to me was the colour combination and it's use for trees. The colours that I have used are Parakeet Party, Tahitian Tide, and Pacific Point. I started with a piece of white cardstock and Blending Brushes. I started with Parakeet Party on the top of the card, then added Tahitian Tide and finally Pacific Point at the bottom. In each case I made sure to blend the colours in between as well. Giving a lovely gradient of colours from the top to the bottom.

I then applied some Adhesive Sheets to the back of the coloured card and die cut a combination of solid trees and outlines from the Tree Lot Dies. I also did the same with a piece of White Glimmer paper. I then mixed and matched the 2 options. The stars on top of the trees are also from the Tree Lot dies and have also been die cut using White Glimmer Paper.

For the base of the card I have used Basic White cardstock and the Whimsical Woodlands 3D embossing folder. Before embossing the white cardstock I very gently rubbed the Tahitian Tide ink pad over the embossing folder to give a very faint colour to the cardstock.

The sentiment is from Christmas to Remember and has been stamped in Tahitian Tide and then die cut using one of the dies from Labels Aglow. I have used both Parakeet Party and Tahitian Tide Bakers Twine. Finally a couple of Opal Rounds have been added.

Next on tonight's blog hop is the talented Andrea Sargent. Click on the button below and it should take you to her blog where you can see her lovely Christmas creation.
