This week, week 15 in the Colour Creations blog hop we continue our journey featuring all of the Core Stampin' Up! colours, in alphabetical order. This week's feature colour Crumb Cake, is a member of the Neutrals colour group.
For my card this week I have chosen to team Crumb Cake up with Balmy Blue and Very Vanilla and a hint of Old Olive and Copper. Unfortunately of late I have had to turn to my stash of Condolence cards and so am needing to replenish it. This card doesn't necessarily need to be used for Condolences but can also be used just to let someone know they are in your thoughts.
My starting point for this card was to choose a piece of the Abigail Rose paper and colour it using Stampin Blends of Balmy Blue and Old Olive. I then thought that this paper was a bit "flat"so decided to emboss it using the subtle Timeworn Type embossing folder to give it a bit more texture.
I have then die cut some twig stems from the Meadow dies using Crumb cake cardstock. For the floral stem I die cut it using Very Vanilla and then coloured it using Old Olive and Balmy Blue Stampin Blends.
The sentiment is from the relatively new Go To Greeting stamp set and I have stamped it on to Crumb Cake cardstock and then embossed it using Copper powder. I have also used another of the Meadow dies to die cut the sentiment. When photographing the card as a whole I found it very hard to capture the copper embossing so here is a close up instead.
Finally I have added a bow using the Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake Bakers Twine from the Bakers Twine Essentials pack, and coordinating with the sentiment panel added a few Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots in Copper.
Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Rachel Palmieri. I look forward to seeing her lovely creation.

This is a really pretty, serene, card, T. I love how you coloured and dry-embossed the background paper; a lovely base for your design. The die-cuts are a beautiful touch, as is the copper-embossed sentiment.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card Theresa! I love how you coloured the DSP and I think the copper is a perfect finishing touch to these lovely colours. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteAnd, no idea why it didn't add my name LOL. Kathryn R xx

ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry you have needed to make condolence cards lately, Theresa. Your colouring really lifts the Abigail Rose paper and looks stunning!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Christine, that it's a beautifully serene card. It's so beautiful, and perfect for a sympathy card.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful card Theresa. I love your colouring and embossing to the Abigail Rose DSP. Balmy Blue is delightful with Crumb Cake. The Meadows die cuts add a special touch. Xxx
ReplyDeleteThis is a really sweet card, Theresa. The colours are lovely together and dry embossing the patterned paper with the Timeworn folder adds the perfect amount of texture. Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteTheresa your card is lovely. I really love the way you coloured the piece of DSP before embossing it. I never think to emboss patterned paper. Thanks for sharing.
