Stampin' Up! Calypso Coral

This week, is week 16 in the Colour Creations blog hop and this week we continue our journey through the existing Stampin' Up! core colours, working in alphabetical order. This week our feature colour is  Calypso Coral, a member of the Subtles family and as the name suggests is a bold coral colour.

At a recent team day our blog hop host, Cathy Proctor, guided us through a Make and Take project featuring the stamp set "Just My Type".  This is not necessarily a stamp set that I would usually purchase but after much encouragement from Cathy and my upline, Christine Blain, I decided to make the most of a recent discounted stamp sale day, and purchased it. My creation today for Calypso Coral features that stamp set, as well as some gorgeous new paper, Garden Walk, which I used for the colour combination inspiration.

My first step for this card was to stamp multiple flower images using Memento Black onto White card. I then coloured these using Calyso Coral and Pretty Peacock Stampin Blends.

To this I added a border top and bottom cut using the edge die from Darling Details dies and Calypso Coral card. Because I didn't like the raw edge of the card showing I added strips of the new Calypso Coral Braided Linen Trim. I look forward to using this more in the future by separating the strands of the ribbon as I think it will work well.

As I thought the flower panel looked a bit "lack lustre" I added a bit of Wink of Stella to brighten it up.

The floral panel has then been mounted onto a piece of the Garden Walk paper that has been embossed using the Timeworn Type embossing folder. This has then all been mounted onto a piece of Pretty Peacock card and then White.

For the sentiment I have used Calypso Coral ink onto White card. The word stamps as a whole but I wanted to separate each of the letters. I'd like to say that I fussy cut each of the letters but not being a fan of fussy cutting I used my retired 3/4 inch punch. The letters were mounted using dimensionals.

Finally I have added a few of the also new Blooming Pearls in Pretty Peacock.

As there were some extra coloured flower images I have added one to the inside of the card, mounted onto Calypso Coral card, along with a strip of the reverse side of the Garden Walk paper.

Next in tonight's blog hop is our fancy fold queen, Sharon Davern. I look forward to seeing this week's beautiful creation.

Stampin' Up! Copper Clay

This week, is week 2 in the Colour Creations blog hop and we continue our journey  featuring all of the Stampin' Up! colours, starting with the latest In Colours. This week's feature colour  Copper Clay, which as the name suggests is a coppery tan colour.

I have chosen to combine this week's feature colour, Copper Clay with last week's feature colour, Boho Blue, along with Basic White. I have also finally inked up the Dainty Delight stamp set which initially was in the last Mini Catalogue and has now been carried over to the latest Annual Catalogue.

The central white panel has been stamped using the Countryside Corner stamp in Boho Blue and then die cut using the corresponding die. The inner panel has been embossed using one of my favourites, Timeworn Type. This has all been mounted onto a piece of Fresh As A Daisy DSP featuring Copper Clay.

The floral spray , from Dainty Delights has been stamped in Copper Clay and die cut with the corresponding die. The longest leaf sprig has been die cut using Boho Blue cardstock and the ends sponged in Misty Moonlight, as have the smaller sprigs.

The sentiment is from Very Best Occasions and has been stamped in Copper Clay and punched using the Banners Pick A Punch.

Finally a double bow using Linen Thread and a couple of Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots have been added.

For the inside of the card I have used another of the Countryside Corners dies and stamped the sentiment, also from Very Best Occasions, and a floral sprig, in Copper Clay.

Next in tonight's blog hop is  lovely Kathryn Ruddick. I look forward to seeing this week's beautiful creation.

Stampin' Up! Crumb Cake

This week, week 15 in the Colour Creations blog hop we continue our journey  featuring all of the Core Stampin' Up! colours, in alphabetical order. This week's feature colour  Crumb Cake, is a member of the Neutrals colour group.

For my card this week I have chosen to team Crumb Cake up with Balmy Blue and Very Vanilla and a hint of Old Olive and Copper. Unfortunately of late I have had to turn to my stash of Condolence cards and so am needing to replenish it. This card doesn't necessarily need to be used for Condolences but can also be used just to let someone know they are in your thoughts.

My starting point for this card was to choose a piece of the Abigail Rose paper and colour it using Stampin Blends of Balmy Blue and Old Olive. I then thought that this paper was a bit "flat"so decided to emboss it using the subtle Timeworn Type embossing folder to give it a bit more texture.

I have then die cut some twig stems from the Meadow dies using Crumb cake cardstock. For the floral stem I die cut it using Very Vanilla and then coloured it using Old Olive and Balmy Blue Stampin Blends.

The sentiment is from the relatively new Go To Greeting stamp set and I have stamped it on to Crumb Cake cardstock and then embossed it using Copper powder. I have also used another of the Meadow dies to die cut the sentiment. When photographing the card as a whole I found it very hard to capture the copper embossing so here is a close up instead.

Finally I have added a bow using the Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake Bakers Twine from the Bakers Twine Essentials pack, and coordinating with the sentiment panel added a few Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots in Copper.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Rachel Palmieri. I look forward to seeing her lovely creation.

Stampin' Up! Pear Pizzazz

Welcome to week 34 of the Art With Heart Colour Creations blog hop for 2022. This week's feature colour is Pear Pizzazz which is one of my favourite greens that Stampin' Up! has and is from the Subtle colour group .

For my card today I have chosen to combine Pear Pizzazz, Calypso Coral and little bit of Crumb Cake. I have also inked up one of the stamp sets from the new Mini catalogue, Ranunculus Romance which also has a matching die set. It wasn't until I sat down to write this blog at my desk that I saw that this card is very very similar to one that I made for Old Olive.  Oops oh well obviously it is a layout that I like. Haha.

Strangely enough Stampin' Up! don't have Stampin Blends in Pear Pizzazz so in this case I had to use Write Markers instead for the central Ranunculus flower . I did this by colouring directly onto the stamp with the Write Markers and then stamped the image. For the sprigs underneath, I thought that Calypso Coral was too strong so I have actually used Blending Brushes very lightly on Basic White cardstock and then die cut the sprig.

For the diagonal panel I have also used Blending Brushes very lightly on Basic White cardstock. I have then stamped off  the script image from the same stamp set using Crumb Cake. This has then been die cut using one of the Scalloped Contour dies and then embossed using the Timeworn Type folder.

This panel has then been mounted on a piece of the Artfully Composed DSP which has also been die cut using the largest Scalloped Contour die. This has then all been mounted on Thick Whisper White cardstock.

The sentiment is also from the Ranunculus Romance stamp set and has been stamped in Calypso Coral and die cut with one of the Stitched So Sweetly dies. Finally a bow using 3 strands of Linen Thread and few fluttering Brushed Brass Butterflies.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the talented Rachel Woollard. I look forward to seeing what lovely creation she has share with us tonight.

Stampin' Up! Old Olive

Welcome to week 32 of the Art With Heart Colour Creations blog hop for 2022. This week's feature colour is Old Olive which as the name suggests is an olive green colour.

For my card this week I have gone back to one of my favourite bundles from the July to December mini catalogue that has actually carried over, Nature's Harvest, and the sentiment is from one of the current Salebration stamp sets that you can earn if you spend $180.

I started by stamping the image in Black Memento and then using Old Olive, Calypso Coral and Petal Pink Stampin Blends. I have then die cut the image using the corresponding die. I then mounted this on a panel of Basic White that I had stamped off twice using Petal Pink and smudgy background stamp from the same set. I then die cut it using one of the frames from the Scalloped Contours dies and then embossed it using the Timeworn Type folder, another item that has carried over from the previous mini.

I have then mounted this panel on another panel of Beauty of the Earth DSP that has been die cut with another of the Scalloped Contours dies. This has then been mounted of Basic White cardstock. I have then added a bow using White and Crumb Cake Bakers Twine from the Essentials Pack.

The sentiment as I mentioned is from the Special Moments stamp set, from the Salebration catalogue which you can earn for free when you spend $180. I have stamped it in old Olive and then dies cut is with one of the Tasteful Labels dies.

Finally I have added a few Brushed Metallic Dots , another item that has carried over.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Caroline Manwaring. I look forward to seeing what lovely creation she has share with us tonight.

Gray Granite Birthday

Welcome to week 21 of the Art With Heart Colour Creations blog hop for 2021. This week's feature colour is Gray Granite which is from the Neutrals colour group.

For this weeks card I revisited a layout I did some years ago but really liked. The focal point for the Gray granite is the piece of DSP from the Neutrals pack. I have then teamed it with Petal Pink and Soft Succulent along with some Metallics.

I have started by embossing a piece of Basic White cardstock using the Timeworn Type folder. I have then die cut some Petal Pink cardstock using one of the Basic Borders dies and adhered this behind the Gray Granite DSP. The word "happy"is from the Christmas Cheer dies and has been die cut in Petal Pink. The word "birthday"is from Artistically Inked and is stamped in Gray Granite masking the word happy using washi tape.

The Basic White circle has been die cut using one of the Layering Circles dies. I have then die cut some leaves using one of the  Forever Flourishing dies and using Petal Pink, Vellum and what I would call the "middle"of the Silver foil Specialty paper. Finally the cute little butterfly has also been die cut using the same Silver foil and using one of the dies from Nature's Thoughts.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Rachel Woollard. I look forward to seeing what lovely creation they share with us tonight.

Crushed Curry Autumn

Welcome to week 14 of the Art With Heart Colour Creations blog hop for 2021. This week's feature colour is Crushed Curry which is from the Regals colour group. To me Crushed Curry conjours up imagines of Autumn so I have teamed it with Old Olive and Cajun Craze, which to me are all Autumnal colours.

Still thinking Autumn, for my card this week I decided to visit a technique that I haven't used for many many years but works a treat for Autumn leaves. The Baby Wipe technique.

For this technique all you need to do is drop ink onto a baby wipe at random and then stamp from that. In the case of this card I randomly dropped Old Olive, Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry reinkers onto the baby wipe. No special baby, just the Coles homebrand! I then randomly stamped the leaf from the Gorgeous Leaves stamp set. There is a matching die to most of the leaves so I then die cut each one. The great thing about this method is all of the different colour layouts that you create and no 2 are the same as you can see.

For the base of the card I have embossed a piece of white cardstock using the Timeworn Type embossing folder. Which you can see closer in this photo.

The sentiment has been stamped in Old Olive and is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set. I've added some randomly arranged Linen Thread and a few Brushed Metallic Dots.

I've really enjoyed revisiting this technique and love the different colour combinations it creates.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Rachel Woollard.I look forward to seeing what lovely creation they have to share with us this week.
