Stampin' Up! Smoky Slate

This week, week 46 in the Colour Creations blog hop we continue our journey  featuring all of the Core Stampin' Up! colours, in alphabetical order. This week's feature colour  Smoky Slate, which is a member of the Neutrals colour group.

This week I am having a play with another of the online exclusives. The Rhino Ready stamp set and coordinating dies. It's a really cute stamp set and has all different sentiments and what is best for me is NO fussy cutting! I have teamed Smoky Slate with a little bit of Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green and Silver.

My starting point was to stamp a couple of the Rhinos in Memento Black and then colour them using Smoky Slate Stampin Blends.

I have then mounted the Rhinos onto a piece of Basic White cardstock that has been die cut using another Online Exclusive, Radiating Stitches dies.

To create a bit of a scene I have added the tree and treetop which re also dies from the Rhino Ready dies. For a bit of fun I have added a couple of party hats die cut in Melon Mambo.

I had a bit of an oops moment when trying to remove excess glue near the tree trunk, so the cute little bird came to the rescue. It's another die and matching stamp from the same set.

All of this has then been mounted on to a piece of Melon Mambo cardstock that has been die cut using one of the Stitched So Sweetly dies. This in turn has then been mounted onto a piece of the Like An Animal Specialty papers that has also been die cut using the largest of the Radiating Stitches dies. I have wrapped a piece of the Metallic Mesh Ribbon around the band of the card and finally mounted it all onto a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock.

As has been the case so far this year I have also decorated the inside of the card with an additional Rhino peaking through some long grass.

Next in tonight's blog hop is  lovely Rachel Palmieri. I look forward to seeing this week's beautiful creation.

Stampin' Up! Shaded Spruce

This week, week 45 in the Colour Creations blog hop we continue our journey  featuring all of the Core Stampin' Up! colours, in alphabetical order. This week's feature colour  Shaded Spruce, which is a member of the Regals colour group.

I have to be honest Shaded Spruce is definitely not a "go to" green for me, in fact I rarely use it, and was unsure whether to partake in this week's Showcase but after a bit of playing around I am actually relatively happy with the end result. I also wanted to have a play with the new Radiating Stitches dies which is one of the new Online Exclusives.

My starting point was to colour a piece of the Perfectly Penciled DSP using Shaded Spruce Stampin' Blends. I have then die cut this using one of the Scalloped Contours dies and then mounted this onto a piece of Basic White cardstock that I have die cut using the largest of the Radiating Stitches dies.

This has then been mounted onto a piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock that has been embossed using the Stitched Greenery die.

I have wrapped a piece of Black and White Gingham ribbon around the body of the card.

The sentiment is from Eden's Garden and has been embossed using Gold and then die cut using one of the Stylish Shapes dies.

I have die cut a couple of hearts once again from the Radiating Stitches dies using Gold Brushed Metallic cardstock.

Finally a couple of Gold Brushed Metallic dots have been added.

To break up the sameness on the inside of the card I have die cut a couple more hearts but this time from the DSP and coloured them using the Shaded Spruce Stampin Blends.

Next in tonight's blog hop is our lovely host Cathy Proctor. I look forward to seeing this week's beautiful creation.

Stampin' Up! Sahara Sand

This week, week 44 in the Colour Creations blog hop we continue our journey  featuring all of the Core Stampin' Up! colours, in alphabetical order. This week's feature colour  Sahara Sand, which is a member of the Neutrals colour group.

It's funny how when you start to plan what you are going to create you have a certain idea in your head and then once you get going that idea can completely change. Well that is exactly what happened this week when I was planning my Sahara Sand card. Originally I was going to white emboss an image onto Sahara Sand cardstock and then colour it with ink and Blender Pens. Well as you can see from the image below that is definitely not what I ended up with!

I've started with a piece of the Fancy Flora DSP and then added an overlay using the largest of the Two Tone Flora dies and Basic White cardstock. I love the effect of the DSP showing through the cut out pieces.

I've then added a 2 step flower from the Two Tone Flora stamp set and Pale Papaya ink. The outline image is full strength and the fill is stamped off first.

I have also added a couple of leaf sprigs that have been stamped in Evening Evergreen onto Soft Succulent cardstock.

The sentiment is from my favourite Go To Greetings and has been embossed in gold on Basic White cardstock and then matted onto Sahara Sand cardstock. Both have been die cut using the Something Fancy dies.

Finally a gold bow using Gold Simply Elegant Trim and a few Gold Pearls(retired).

As I had a strip of the Fancy Flora DSP leftover I have used one of the Elegant Borders dies  and added it to the inside of the card.

Next in tonight's blog hop is our lovely host Cathy Proctor. I look forward to seeing this week's beautiful creation.

Stampin' Up! Rich Razzleberry

This week, week 43 in the Colour Creations blog hop we continue our journey  featuring all of the Core Stampin' Up! colours, in alphabetical order. This week's feature colour  Rich Razzleberry, which is a member of the Regals colour group.

Being in the Regals colour group, Rich Razzleberry is another very bold colour and so again I have chosen to team it with Basic White along with a bit of Balmy Blue and Old Olive to create a birthday card for a very special person. Safe to say she is too young to read my blog and so I am able to blog it before popping it in the post to her.

My starting point for this card was to create the chequered background by using two of the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks along with Blending Brushes and a Rich Razzleberry ink pad.

The top half of the card is a piece of Basic White cardstock that has been dry embossed using one of the Lets Celebrate embossing folders. No matter how hard I tried I couldn't get the English "Happy Birthday" to be totally seen but I am sure she will see the HB2U!.

Between the 2 panels I have placed a strip of Rich Razzleberry cardstock that has been die cut using one of the Blossoming Happiness dies and then placed a band of White Glittered Organdy Ribbon on top of it.

The featured stamp is from Best Day and has been embossed using black powder before colouring with Rich Razzleberry, Balmy Blue and Old Olive Stampin Blends. This has then been die cut using one of the Fabulous Frames dies. I have also cut another using Balmy Blue cardstock and used the outer frame.

Finally a bow also using the White Glittered Organdy Ribbon.

I have also decorated the inside of the card using a couple of the other stamps from the Best Day stamp set.

Next in tonight's blog hop is our lovely host Cathy Proctor. I look forward to seeing this week's beautiful creation.

Stampin' Up! Real Red

This week, week 42 in the Colour Creations blog hop we continue our journey  featuring all of the Core Stampin' Up! colours, in alphabetical order. This week's feature colour  Real Red, which is a member of the Regals colour group.

Real Red is a very bold red colour and often used for Christmas cards but alas it is only March and far too early to start making Christmas cards, thus the challenge this week. With this in mind I have chosen to combine Real Red with Flirty Flamingo, a bit of Mossy meadow and lots of White.

The base of the card has been dry embossed using another of the Online exclusive Basic 3D embossing folders.

The sentiment is from Sentimental Park and has been stamped in Flirty Flamingo and then die cut using one of the plain Layering Circles dies. On top of this I have mounted a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock that has been die cut using one of the dies from Irresistible Blooms dies and then snipped into a circle shape.

The flowers on the right hand side of the circle die have been stamped in both Real Red and Flirty Flamingo and then die cut using the corresponding die from the Sentimental Park dies.

Finally I have coloured a few Opal Rounds using Real Red Stampin Blends.

In line with previous weeks I have also decorated the inside of the card, also using the Sentimental Park bundle.

The leaves have been stamped using Mossy Meadow and the flowers once again, Flirty Flamingo and Real Red.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Caroline Manwaring. I look forward to seeing this week's beautiful creation.
