This week, week 44 in the Colour Creations blog hop we continue our journey featuring all of the Core Stampin' Up! colours, in alphabetical order. This week's feature colour Sahara Sand, which is a member of the Neutrals colour group.
It's funny how when you start to plan what you are going to create you have a certain idea in your head and then once you get going that idea can completely change. Well that is exactly what happened this week when I was planning my Sahara Sand card. Originally I was going to white emboss an image onto Sahara Sand cardstock and then colour it with ink and Blender Pens. Well as you can see from the image below that is definitely not what I ended up with!
I've started with a piece of the Fancy Flora DSP and then added an overlay using the largest of the Two Tone Flora dies and Basic White cardstock. I love the effect of the DSP showing through the cut out pieces.
I've then added a 2 step flower from the Two Tone Flora stamp set and Pale Papaya ink. The outline image is full strength and the fill is stamped off first.
I have also added a couple of leaf sprigs that have been stamped in Evening Evergreen onto Soft Succulent cardstock.
The sentiment is from my favourite Go To Greetings and has been embossed in gold on Basic White cardstock and then matted onto Sahara Sand cardstock. Both have been die cut using the Something Fancy dies.
Finally a gold bow using Gold Simply Elegant Trim and a few Gold Pearls(retired).
As I had a strip of the Fancy Flora DSP leftover I have used one of the Elegant Borders dies and added it to the inside of the card.
Next in tonight's blog hop is our lovely host Cathy Proctor. I look forward to seeing this week's beautiful creation.

Oh, how pretty! The DSP is lovely, peeking through the lacy die cut, and I love the addition of the border on the inside of the card.
ReplyDeleteTheresa I agree that the DSP peeking through the large die cut adds a lovely dimension to your card. I really love the border die cut inside your card it’s just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteReally pretty card, Theresa. I love how changing the DSP behind this die, can look so different, but always so stunning. The fancy border die on the inside looks great too!
ReplyDeleteYou ended up with a truly lovely and elegant card, Theresa. The border die cut on the inside edge is a lovely addition too.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card - I really do love how you have decorated the inside Theresa. Stunning!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely creation Theresa, I think your card with all its lacy loveliness is just gorgeous. That inner border seems to really match the theme.
ReplyDeleteYour card is stunning Theresa. I love the use of the border die on the inside of the card too as it carries all the prettiness over from the front.
ReplyDeleteThis is just lovely, T. I might have considered that the DSP would be too "busy" to use under a detailed die-cut overlay, but it looks so beautiful - great decision! The leaves look beautiful stamped in Evening Evergreen on Soft Succulent card, and I love the lacy border inside the card.
