This week, week 43 in the Colour Creations blog hop we continue our journey featuring all of the Core Stampin' Up! colours, in alphabetical order. This week's feature colour Rich Razzleberry, which is a member of the Regals colour group.
Being in the Regals colour group, Rich Razzleberry is another very bold colour and so again I have chosen to team it with Basic White along with a bit of Balmy Blue and Old Olive to create a birthday card for a very special person. Safe to say she is too young to read my blog and so I am able to blog it before popping it in the post to her.
My starting point for this card was to create the chequered background by using two of the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks along with Blending Brushes and a Rich Razzleberry ink pad.
The top half of the card is a piece of Basic White cardstock that has been dry embossed using one of the Lets Celebrate embossing folders. No matter how hard I tried I couldn't get the English "Happy Birthday" to be totally seen but I am sure she will see the HB2U!.
Between the 2 panels I have placed a strip of Rich Razzleberry cardstock that has been die cut using one of the Blossoming Happiness dies and then placed a band of White Glittered Organdy Ribbon on top of it.
The featured stamp is from Best Day and has been embossed using black powder before colouring with Rich Razzleberry, Balmy Blue and Old Olive Stampin Blends. This has then been die cut using one of the Fabulous Frames dies. I have also cut another using Balmy Blue cardstock and used the outer frame.
Finally a bow also using the White Glittered Organdy Ribbon.
I have also decorated the inside of the card using a couple of the other stamps from the Best Day stamp set.
Next in tonight's blog hop is our lovely host Cathy Proctor. I look forward to seeing this week's beautiful creation.

ReplyDeleteThe checks looks so effective in Rich Razzleberry, and the embossing was a fab choice. I love the radiating candles on the inside of your card.
ReplyDeleteA great card for a special little somebody Theresa. I love your masked base and the embossed to is brilliant. The colouring of the cake and sentiment is delightful and perfectly framed in Balmy Blue. x
ReplyDeleteSuper-cute card, using a fun colour combination, T. I am itching to have a play with this stamp set. Love what you've done with it!
ReplyDeleteTheresa, I love the masking and blending brush technique on the lower half of you card, it really stands out. The inside looks great with the stamping around the sentiment; it really draws the eye in. I'm certain your little friend is going to love this one!
ReplyDeleteYou fooled me with the checked part of the card, I was sure it was a DSP. You’ve created a lovely crisp finish on that part to set off your stamped image.
