This week, week 42 in the Colour Creations blog hop we continue our journey featuring all of the Core Stampin' Up! colours, in alphabetical order. This week's feature colour Real Red, which is a member of the Regals colour group.
Real Red is a very bold red colour and often used for Christmas cards but alas it is only March and far too early to start making Christmas cards, thus the challenge this week. With this in mind I have chosen to combine Real Red with Flirty Flamingo, a bit of Mossy meadow and lots of White.
The base of the card has been dry embossed using another of the Online exclusive Basic 3D embossing folders.
The sentiment is from Sentimental Park and has been stamped in Flirty Flamingo and then die cut using one of the plain Layering Circles dies. On top of this I have mounted a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock that has been die cut using one of the dies from Irresistible Blooms dies and then snipped into a circle shape.
The flowers on the right hand side of the circle die have been stamped in both Real Red and Flirty Flamingo and then die cut using the corresponding die from the Sentimental Park dies.
Finally I have coloured a few Opal Rounds using Real Red Stampin Blends.
In line with previous weeks I have also decorated the inside of the card, also using the Sentimental Park bundle.
The leaves have been stamped using Mossy Meadow and the flowers once again, Flirty Flamingo and Real Red.
Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Caroline Manwaring. I look forward to seeing this week's beautiful creation.

Beautiful card Theresa, the flowers curving around the circle wreath are really effective
ReplyDeleteThe red and pink flowers are oh, so pretty, and pair so wonderfully with Mossy Meadow. I hadn't noticed these embossing folders in the pre-order, so I'm off to have a look!
ReplyDeleteYour wreath is gorgeous, Theresa, and it looks wonderful against the embossing folder too. Great card and colour combination.
ReplyDeleteFabulous job of combining three different products Theresa. This card illustrates how well Stampin’ Up! products can complement each other. Fiona Ryan
ReplyDeleteLovely card, Theresa. I love all the white space with the pop of colour of those pretty flowers on the Mossy Meadow wreath. That embossing folder looks great too!
ReplyDeleteThat embossing folder {love} is striking in the white! Beautiful card, love this layout.
ReplyDeleteGreat combination of products to make a lovely card Theresa. I particularly like the flowers laid around the Mossy Green circle like a wreath. Hadn’t recognised where they were from, what a surprise.
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous embossed background - love it! I have used the other two Basics 3D embossing folders, but not this one yet; so nice to see it, and it's really striking in white. I love that you used Flirty Flamingo with Real Red for the flowers. I wouldn't have thought to pair those two colours, but the flowers look so pretty. Lovely card, T.
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely texture from the embossing folder Theresa. Lots of sweet coloured flowers on all of that lovely white space.
