Stampin' Up! Crushed Curry

This week, is week 20 in the Colour Creations blog hop and this week we continue our journey through the existing Stampin' Up! core colours, working in alphabetical order. This week our feature colour is  Crushed Curry, a member of the Regals family of colours. Crushed Curry is not a colour I would tend to use very much but when I do I am pleasantly surprised.

For my creation this week I have used the Stampin' Up! Monthly Challenge as the inspiration as this month it's a sketch challenge and one that appealed to me.

I have also chosen to feature the beautiful Inked Botanicals Paper as one of the feature colours is Crushed Curry. The paper along with the stamp set, Inked and Tiled , is part of the Inked Botanicals Suite of products.

Four different papers have been cut and then mounted onto Lost Lagoon card in bow of Linen Thread.the layout as per the sketch above. These have then all been mounted onto a piece of Very Vanilla card and then onto a Crushed Curry card base.

The flower and leaf stems have been cut from Crushed Curry, Calypso Coral and Lost Lagoon card using several of the dies from Meadow dies. They have also been sponged with their corresponding coliurs using sponge daubers. All tied together using a bow of Linen Thread.

The sentiment is also from Inked and Tiled and has been stamped in Calypso Coral on Very Vanilla card and then cut using one of the Something Fancy dies.

Finally a few Brushed Brass Butterflies have been added.

For the inside of the card I have stamped one of the Inked and Tiled images in Calypso Coral on Very Vanilla and added a strip of a different piece of the Inked Botanicals paper.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Cathy Proctor. I look forward to seeing this week's beautiful creation.

Stampin' Up! Early Espresso

This week, week 18 in the Colour Creations blog hop we continue our journey  featuring all of the Core Stampin' Up! colours, in alphabetical order. This week's feature colour  Early Espresso, is a member of the Neutrals colour group and is a very dark brown colour.

This week I have decided to go back to one of my most favourite Stampin' Up! bundles, Natures Harvest as I thought it was a perfect way to feature Early Espresso. I have however teamed it with a great sentiment stamp set, Very Best Occasions.

To start this card I stamped the Gerbera image using Memento Black and then coloured it using Petal Pink and Soft Succulent Stampin Blends. I then die cut this using the corresponding die. I have then mounted this using Dimensionals on a piece of Basic White cardstock and then onto a Piece of Early Espresso cardstock. Both of these have been die cut using the Deckled Rectangles dies.

I have then mounted this on a piece of the Abigail Rose paper that I have stamped off the "splatter"stamp from Quiet Meadow using Early Espresso. I have also sponged around the edges of this paper using the same inkpad. I have then embossed this piece of paper using the Timeworn Type embossing folder to give it some texture. You can see a close up here of that.

I have then mounted all of this onto a piece of Early Espresso cardstock and then onto Basic White.

The sentiment is from Very Best Occasions and has been stamped in Early Espresso and die cut using one of the Stylish Shapes dies. I have wound some Linen Thread around the body of then card under the sentiment. Finally I have added some of the beautiful Rustic Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the talented    Dianne Furniss   I look forward to seeing her lovely creation.

Stampin' Up! Basic Gray

This week, week 7 in the Colour Creations blog hop we continue our journey  featuring all of the Core Stampin' Up! colours, in alphabetical order. This week's feature colour is Basic Gray.

This week I have chosen to team Basic Gray with Polished Pink and White to create what could be used as a sympathy card or just a "how are you going" card. The focus of the card is from the bundle Ranunculus Romance bundle which I must confess has not been used very much.

My starting point for this card was to stamp the Drybrush stamp using Basic Gray ink onto White cardstock. I then embossed this using the Timeworn Type embossing folder. I then stamped Ranunculus flower stem in Memento Black and then coloured it using Polished Pink and Granny Green Apple Stampin' Blends. I then die cut the image using the corresponding dies along with a couple of other sprays using Polished Pink cardstock.

Next I die cut one of the largest tags from the Tailor Made Tags dies using White cardstock and very lightly brushed some Basic Gray ink onto it using a Blending Brush to just lessen the starkness of the White cardstock. I then die cut the next smallest in the same type of tag using one of the pieces of Lovely Layers Vellum that has the random dots on it. The photo below shows the embossing of the background a bit better.

I then adhered the flower spray to the Tags. The tie for the Tag is some White Bakers Twine that I have coloured using the Polished Pink Stampin' Blends. For the sentiment I have stamped off the splotches stamp from Quite Meadow using Polished Pink and then stamped the sentiment also from the same stamp set using Basic Gray. This has then been die cut using one of the dies from the Meadow set of dies. Finally a couple of In Colour Opal Rounds for some bling.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Sharon Davern. I wonder whether she will have another of her fabulous fancy fold cards to share with us.

Stampin' Up! Cherry Cobbler Blossoms

Welcome to week 10 of the Art With Heart Colour Creations blog hop for 2021. This week's feature colour is Cherry Cobbler. Cherry Cobbler is a member of the Regals family of colours and is a very strong deep red colour, quite often used in Christmas cards. This week I was determined NOT to use it for a Christmas card though.

Being such a strong colour I decided to tone it down by using Basic White and Sahara Sand. In this card I have used to of my favourite bundles, Quite Meadow and Forever Blossoms.

I chose to only colour the flower centres to try and emulate Cherry Blossom. Reminds me of Japan. Maybe I've been watching too much of the Olympics! I have actually added in another die cut and coloured flower and a couple of leaf sprigs just to fill the flower spray out a bit. The background card has been dry embossed using Tasteful Textiles to try an soften the background.

For the sentiment I have used one of the greetings from Quiet Meadow which also has a corresponding die. The sentiment has been embossed in White on Cherry Cobbler cardstock. Then finally a couple of Champagne Rhinestones.

Next in the blog hop tonight is Andrea Sargent . If you click on the button below it will take you to her blog where you can see her latest lovely creation.

If the "next" button link is not working or you would like to see a full list of participants then go to Cathy Proctor's blog, where you can see a full list of tonight's participants.

Remember to come back again next week when our feature colour will be Cinnamon Cider, one of the In Colours from 2020-21.

Art With Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop: Week 3 Basic Gray

Welcome to another week of the Art With Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week our feature colour is Basic Gray, one of our colours from the Neutrals collection.

I have chosen to team it with one of the lovely new In Colours Pale Papaya and also another gray, Gray Granite.

For the background of the card I have used a piece of DSP from the Hand-Penned pack which I have stamped off the Splatter stamp and then embossed the whole piece using the Tasteful Textile embossing folder. The floral sprigs have been die cut using the matching Dies from the Quiet Meadow bundle using cardstock but also some of the new In Colour Shimmer Vellum. Here is a close up for you.

It has a gorgeous glimmer to it. The vellum comes in all of the new In Colours and they all look beautiful. The floral sprig in the background has been stamped using Basic Gray as has the sentiment which is also from the Quiet Meadow stamp set.
