Heart of Christmas Week 18

Welcome to Week 18 of The Art With Heart Heart Of Christmas blog hop. This week our host is Tina Gillespie.

I had to laugh last week when a couple of other team members commented on how hard it was to photograph the Metallic Specialty Paper. Well this week I found out for myself!

I've always thought that Navy and Gold are very elegant for Christmas and thought it would work perfectly for the Bright Baubles bundle. I started by die cutting some Night of Navy cardstock for the backing of the bauble. I then die cut the intricate design using the Gold Specialty Paper. This was then mounted on apiece of Shimmery White cardstock that had been embossed using one of the Wintry 3D embossing folders which I might add was equally as hard to capture in the photograph.

I then added a couple of "peeper" strips of the same Gold paper to the edges.

The sentiment is from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set and it has been embossed with Gold embossing powder and then die cut using one of the Stitched Rectangle dies. Finally if there wasn't enough bling then a couple of Brushed Metallic Dots in Gold and a bow using the Gold Shimmer ribbon.

Highland Heather

Welcome to week 22 of the Art With Heart Colour Creations blog hop for 2021. This week's feature colour is Highland Heather which is from the Subtles colour group.

For some weeks now I have had a piece of Basic White cardstock that I had embossed using the Pretty Flowers embossing folder sitting on my craft desk so I thought it was time to incorporate it into a card. I also then decided it was time to open up a couple of dies that were still to be opened. Sparkle of the Season and Iconic dies.

I have die cut the wreath using Soft Sea Foam and the flowers are from the Iconic die which a set of all different elements. The flowers have been die cut using Highland Heather. In the case of the flowers there are 3 different sizes and I have just layered them all and popped a Pastel pearl in the flower centre.

The sentiment is from Best Year and has been die cut with yet another die, a Scalloped Contour die. Finally a few more Pastel Pearls and bow using Grosgrain Ribbon.

Although I really love all purple colours I have to say that I found this weeks Colour Creation Showcase challenging. Maybe just a bit of lockdown fatigue setting in! Finally though we get to start to return to some form of normal this week.

Next in tonight's blog hop is my lovely upline Christine Blain . I look forward to seeing what lovely creation she has share with us tonight. Christine has the innate ability to be a wonderful enabler.

Heart of Christmas Week 17

Welcome to Week 17 of The Art With Heart Heart Of Christmas blog hop. This week our host is Sharon Davern.

It's funny how sometimes you picture in your mind how you are going lay a card out and then when you actually start to make it you realise that there is a more appealing way. Such is the case with this week's card. Initially I envisaged this card to rotated the other way to what has ended up being. That is, what I would say, standing on it's short side. As you can see it has ended up standing on it's long side instead.

I've used the colours in the DSP as the focus of the cardstock colours to use. Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent and Cherry Cobbler. I've die cut the DSP and Soft Succulent cardstock using the Rectangle Stitched dies. I have then mounted these on a piece of Shimmery White cardstock that I have embossed using Painted Texture folder.

For the bunch of foliage I have used a combination of Sparkle of The Season and Christmas Trimmings. I have then added a bow using Cherry Cobbler and Gold Ribbon. The sentiment has been stamped in Evening Evergreen using the Painted Christmas Suite.  Finally a few Holiday Rhinestones for some glimmer.

Gray Granite Birthday

Welcome to week 21 of the Art With Heart Colour Creations blog hop for 2021. This week's feature colour is Gray Granite which is from the Neutrals colour group.

For this weeks card I revisited a layout I did some years ago but really liked. The focal point for the Gray granite is the piece of DSP from the Neutrals pack. I have then teamed it with Petal Pink and Soft Succulent along with some Metallics.

I have started by embossing a piece of Basic White cardstock using the Timeworn Type folder. I have then die cut some Petal Pink cardstock using one of the Basic Borders dies and adhered this behind the Gray Granite DSP. The word "happy"is from the Christmas Cheer dies and has been die cut in Petal Pink. The word "birthday"is from Artistically Inked and is stamped in Gray Granite masking the word happy using washi tape.

The Basic White circle has been die cut using one of the Layering Circles dies. I have then die cut some leaves using one of the  Forever Flourishing dies and using Petal Pink, Vellum and what I would call the "middle"of the Silver foil Specialty paper. Finally the cute little butterfly has also been die cut using the same Silver foil and using one of the dies from Nature's Thoughts.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Rachel Woollard. I look forward to seeing what lovely creation they share with us tonight.

Heart of Christmas Week 16

Welcome to Week 16 of The Art With Heart Heart Of Christmas blog hop. This week our host is Tina Gillespie .

Following on from last week's Heart Of Christmas blog hop I have decided to have another play with the Bright Baubles bundle. This week my starting point was one of the "reverse" sides of the Whimsy and Wonder DSPs.

I started by embossing the DSP using the Tasteful Textile folder to add some texture. For one of the baubles I stamped the image in Versamark and the embossed it with White embossing powder and then die cut the bauble using the corresponding die. For the second bauble I stamped the image with Mint Macaron onto Shimmery White cardstock and then die cut it with the corresponding die. I also coloured some of the decorative images using the Mint Macaron Stampin Blend.

For the bauble on the left I have used Metallic Pearls for decoration and for the bauble on the right I had to colour some Basic Pearl Jewels using a Mint Macaron Stampin Blend. The sentiment is also from the same bundle and I have embossed it with White embossing powder and then die cut it with one of the Ornate Frames dies.

I really love how this bundle makes it so easy to make lovely Christmas cards and I can see myself using it more in the coming weeks.

Stampin' Up! Artistically Inked Birthday

Earlier this week I shared a card made for the Art With Heart Colour Creations Showcase and today I have another card featuring Granny Apple Green  to share with you.

This card features the Artistically Inked bundle which consists of a matching stamp set and coordinating dies. I've stamped the images in Granny Apple Green, Melon Mambo and Mango Melody and then die cut them with the corresponding dies. I have then adhered a piece of Shimmery White cardstock to one of the adhesive sheets and die cut the whole larger image. By using the adhesive sheets it means you dont have to use any glue which is very fiddly with a die like this. I have then mounted this on another piece of Shimmery White cardstock that I have embossed using the Tasteful Textile embossing folder.

Finally the sentiment is also from the same stamp set and it has been die cut using a Rectangle Stitched die and then a few sequins from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack.

As always if you would like to know more about anything Stampin Up!, would like me to pop a brand new catalogue in the mail to you, or would like to order any of the beautiful products then please contact me via the Facebook tab up the top.

Enjoy your week

Granny Apple Green Birthday

Welcome to week 20 of the Art With Heart Colour Creations blog hop for 2021. This week's feature colour is Granny Apple Green which is from the Brights colour group. Granny Apple Green is like a lime green colour

Whilst looking for inspiration for this weeks card on social media and Pinterest I came across a card using the Picture This circle dies as balloons. I can't for the life of me remember where or who it was so I am unable to reference them but I thought it was a really nifty idea. I have decided to team the Granny Apple Green with Misty Moonlight , Coastal Cabana and Basic White.

I started by using the middle sized circle and cutting 2 of each of the colours. I have then used a Chalk Marker to mark the balloons to look like a gloss reflection. I think I have succeeded? For the balloon strings I have used the Bakers Twine Essentials. I have mounted all of this one a piece of Basic White cardstock that I have embossed using the Checks and Dots Embossing folder.

Finally the sentiment is from the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set and has been stamped using Misty Moonlight and then die cut using a Rectangle Stitched die.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Michele Taylor . I look forward to seeing what lovely creation they share with us tonight.
