Stampin' Up! Pacific Point

Welcome to week 33 of the Art With Heart Colour Creations blog hop for 2022. This week's feature colour is Pacific Point which is quite a bold bright blue colour and one that I really don't use very much.

Looking for inspiration I resorted to Pinterest where I found the colour combination that I have used for this card. Night of Navy, Pacific Point, Bermuda Bay and Pool Party.

To start this card I used strips of cardstock of each of the colours and die cut them using the jagged die from the Basic Borders dies and then glued each on top of the other in colour order and repeated this 3 times. I then embossed this piece using one of the new folders from the Stripes and Splatters 3D Embossing Folders in the new mini catalogue. You can see some of the detail of the embossing closer in the photo below. I then mounted this on Pacific Point cardstock and finally on Night of Navy. I have then added some of the new Denim ribbon along with some Basic White Bakers Twine.

The sentiment is from Happiest of Birthdays and is actually a bleated birthday sentiment but instead of inking up the whole stamp I used a Pacific Point marker and only coloured the words I wanted to stamp. I have then die cut the sentiment using one of the Hippo and Friends dies.

I have die cut the star spray and the swirl using a couple of dies from the Stitched Stars dies and used the Bermuda Bay part of the Rainbow Glimmer Paper. Finally I have coloured a few of the Classic Matte Dots using a Bermuda Bay Stampin Blend.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the Art With Heart Team Leader Claire Daly. I look forward to seeing what lovely creation she has share with us tonight.

Granny Apple Green Birthday

Welcome to week 20 of the Art With Heart Colour Creations blog hop for 2021. This week's feature colour is Granny Apple Green which is from the Brights colour group. Granny Apple Green is like a lime green colour

Whilst looking for inspiration for this weeks card on social media and Pinterest I came across a card using the Picture This circle dies as balloons. I can't for the life of me remember where or who it was so I am unable to reference them but I thought it was a really nifty idea. I have decided to team the Granny Apple Green with Misty Moonlight , Coastal Cabana and Basic White.

I started by using the middle sized circle and cutting 2 of each of the colours. I have then used a Chalk Marker to mark the balloons to look like a gloss reflection. I think I have succeeded? For the balloon strings I have used the Bakers Twine Essentials. I have mounted all of this one a piece of Basic White cardstock that I have embossed using the Checks and Dots Embossing folder.

Finally the sentiment is from the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set and has been stamped using Misty Moonlight and then die cut using a Rectangle Stitched die.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Michele Taylor . I look forward to seeing what lovely creation they share with us tonight.

Stampin' Up! Cajun Craze Birthday

Welcome to another week of the Art With Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week our feature colour is Cajun Craze which is quite a polarizing tan colour.

As Cajun Craze is such a strong colour I struggled what other colours to coordinate it with, so I ended up going with good old Basic White and Black.

The DSP I have used in the background is from the In The Wild pack and it is hard to see but I have actually embossed it using the Painted Texture embossing folder. The sentiment is from the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set but I have masked the stamp so as to remove the words in the middle (a little bit late). The banner at the top and bottom as well flags in the left top corner are all from the Stitched Triangle dies. The flags in the top corner have been die cut from the "returning favourite"Black Glimmer paper which will be available to purchase next month. The stars have been die cut using another new specialty paper, Silver foil Specialty paper and I have used the Brushed Finish one. This will also be available in the upcoming mini.

I have also made another card featuring Cajun Craze but I will share that with you later in the week.

Next in the Blog Hop tonight is Andrea Sargent. If you click on the button below it will take you to her blog where you can see her latest lovely creation. If the "next" button link is not working of you would like to see a full list of participants then go to Cathy Proctor's blog   .

Art With Heart Colour Creations Showcase : Pretty Peacock

Welcome to another week of the Art With Heart Colour Creations Showcase. This week we are featuring one of the 2019-2021 In Colours, and one that will be retiring in a few months, Pretty Peacock, which is quite a strong blue green colour.

I've chosen a piece of the DSP from the Forever Greenery pack to start the design process. I've run this through the Subtle embossing folder to add some texture. I've then used the largest stamp from the Happiest of Birthday's stamp set and coloured the words in graduating colours of, Shaded Spruce, Granny Green Apple and Pear Pizazz. I've used markers rather than Stampin' Blends as they are better for colouring stamps. I did this using my Stamparatus so that I could stamp the image several times to get the colour density I liked. The sentiment panel has then been die cut using the Stitched Nested Labesl dies and I've cut another one in Pretty Peacock to mount it on.  Finally I've added a couple of Granny Green Apple balloons with Pretty Peacock ribbons from the Happy dies. As well as a couple of Holiday Rhinestone jewels in Shaded Spruce
