Stampin' Up! Cherry Cobbler

 

This week, week 13 in the Colour Creations blog hop we continue our journey  featuring all of the Core Stampin' Up! colours, in alphabetical order. This week's feature colour is Cherry Cobbler, is a member of the Regals colour group.

 

 

Cherry Cobbler is often used for Christmas cards but this week I was determined not to create one to featuring Cherry Cobbler. In a recent conversation with my upline, the Lovely Christine Blain, she mentioned how well Cherry Cobbler goes with Night Of Navy and that is the colour combo I have chosen, and added White and a small amount of Sahara Sand and Crushed Curry. I'm also getting in early for Father's Day!

 My starting point for this card was to cut 2 pieces of cardstock, one in Cherry Cobbler and one in Basic White and die cut them using the Deckled Rectangle dies in descending sizes. I then embossed the white piece using the Painted Texture embossing folder. I then die cut some more Cherry Cobbler cardstock using two of the circle dies from Stylish Shapes dies.

Next I stamped the solid lighthouse stamp from the Lighthouse Point stamp set in Night of Navy. I then stamped the bands across the Lighthouse in Versamark and embossed them in White. The stamp set Lighthouse Point also has a coordinating die set which includes one to die cut the Lighthouse. There is also a die for the light beam, which I have stamped using Crushed Curry. I have also stamped a couple of the rocks in Sahara Sand and die cut them using the coordinating die. 

For the sentiment I have used the  Father's Day sentiment from the Celebrating You stamp set and stamped this on Cherry Cobbler cardstock and embossed it with white embossing powder. I have then die cut it using one of the dies also from the Lighthouse dies. I have also added some Starry Sky and White Bakers twine around the band of the card and tied a Sailors knot in it. There is a close up photo of it below but it is a bit hard to make it out with the 2 colours in the twine. 

Finally I have added a couple of the White Classic Matte Dots to the sentiment panel.
