Christmas Friends

Welcome to Week 9 of The Art With Heart Heart Of Christmas blog hop. This week our host is  Sharon Davern.

For some weeks now I have had lying on my desk a piece of white cardstock embossed with the Ornate Floral Embossing folder and sponged with Evening Evergreen and a piece of Painted Christmas DSP. I had planned to use them some weeks ago but as is usually the case once I started the plan changed so they have sat unused on my desk until today! I was determined to use them for this week's card.

This week's card contains many of the elements from the Painted Christmas suite of products, one which I said some weeks ago would feature in many of this years cards. So as explained my starting point was the embossed white card and DSP. I have then added a die cut piece of the Soft Succulent Shimmer Vellum. The photo above makes it hard to see the shimmer but the one below might be better.

I have then added some stamped and die cut leaves and sprigs of berried that are quite similar to those in the background DSP. I have also added some of the Cherry Cobbler and Gold ribbon which is also part of the same suite of products. Then the sentiment has been stamped in Real Red and then die cut with one of the corresponding dies from the suite. Finally a couple of Gold Metallic Pearls.

As the base of the card is Evening Evergreen it needs to have lighter panel inside to write in, so I've done that in White and then added another leaf and sprig combo.

Crumb Cake Sympathy

Welcome to week 13 of the Art With Heart Colour Creations blog hop for 2021. This week's feature colour is Crumb Cake which is from the Neutrals colour group. This week I have chosen to team it up with Calypso Coral and Pear Pizzazz.

For my card this week I have chosen to try the Double Time stamping technique and have used one of the freebie stamp sets that you can earn during Salebration if you spend in this case $180. It's called Delicate Dahlias and is a 2 step stamp set with some lovely greetings. In my case I have chosen to use the Sympathy sentiment.

I have started by cutting 2 panels and only adhering them slightly so you can separate them once the stamping is complete. Before separating the panels I have run them through the Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine using the Tasteful Textile folder. It's a bit hard to see in the photo above but hopefully it is a bit clearer in this one.

Once this has been done the panels are then separated and I have mounted them on Crumb Cake cardstock. I have then used some of the Crumb Cake and Vanilla Bakers Twine and a few Champagne Rhinestones. I have stamped the sentiment on a piece of Crumb Cake card and then used one of the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch punches to cut it out.

I have really enjoyed using this method with this stamp set as it really lends itself to the method.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Christine Blain .I look forward to seeing what lovely creation they have to share with us this week as she is always a wonderful enabler..

Love Of The Season

Welcome to Week 8 of The Art With Heart Heart Of Christmas blog hop. This week our host is Tina Gillespie.

This week I have finally decided to break open the Whimsical Trees bundle and what a beautiful bundle it is with a gorgeous paper to coordinate.

The background paper is from the Whimsy and Wonder DSP pack and I have embossed it using the Evergreen Forest3D folder to blend in with the trees that I have die cut using the Christmas Tree dies. It's a bit hard to see in the photo above but here is a close up.

The Christmas trees have been die cut using Evening Evergreen and Mint Macaron and then I have die cut the garland using the Be Dazzling paper that you can earn free during Saleabration. I have also used it to die cut the baubles on the left tree as well as the star on top. Then a couple of the In Colour jewels on the right tree in Polished Pink for the baubles. Finally the couple of gifts at the base of the tree have been cut from the Whimsy and Wonder DSP. The sentiment is also from the Whimsical Trees stamp set and I have stamped it on Vellum and die cut it using the Stitched Sweetly dies.

Next in tonight's blog hop is Rosa Leyden. Click on the button below and it should take you to her blog where you can see her beautiful creation for tonight. If the button doesn't work then you can always go to Tina Gillespie's blog where you can see a full list of tonight's participants.

Stampin' Up! Coastal Cabana Birthday

As I mentioned in my previous post for the Art With Colour Creations Showcase Blog Hop, I would have another Coastal Cabana card to share with you and this is the other one I created.

I had a lot of fun making this card and using the Decorative masks for the first time. Once again I have used Highland Heather, Coastal Cabana and Granny Green Apple. Quite simply all I did was apply the ink to the Blending Brushes and applied it to the Basic White cardstock that has the Decorative mask on top of it. Once all of the ink has dried you just remove the mask and the pattern evolves. I've used the "happy"die from the Words of Cheer bundle in the current mini catalogue and the "birthday"stamp is from the Biggest Wish stamp set.

All in all an easy yet effective card to make and lots of fun using the Blending Brushes.

As always if you would like to know more about anything Stampin Up!, would like me to pop a brand new catalogue in the mail to you, or would like to order any of the beautiful products then please contact me via the Facebook tab up the top.

Enjoy your week

Coastal Cabana Thinking of You

Welcome to week 12 of the Art With Heart Colour Creations blog hop for 2021. This week's feature colour is Coastal Cabana which is from the Brights colour group.

For my card I was inspired by a US Demonstrator Su Mohr and chose to CASE one her cards that she created some months ago using the Blending brushes. I haven't had a chance to have good play with them recently so this gave me the opportunity. I have chosen to team Coastal Cabana with Highland Heather and Granny Green Apple.

The base of the card is actually Shimmery White cardstock but it is a bit hard to see it in the photo. This has been embossed using the Old World Paper embossing folder which I have just realized is actually retired but you could easily replace it for another such as Painted Texture instead for the same effect. You start by die cutting the sprig which is from the Artistic Dies and then using a Blending brush, one colour at a time, apply the colour. There is no right or wrong. When you do this you actually create another piece of cardstock which has the die cut outline in white and then the rest of the colours brushed around it. I'm going to save this piece to create another card down the track. Finally the sentiment is from the Art Gallery bundle and whilst I had a brush loaded with Coastal Cabana I have coloured some Crinkled Seam Binding. Finally a couple of Holiday Rhinestone jewels in Coastal Cabana.

Next in the blog hop tonight is my lovely upline Christine Blain If you click on the button below it will take you to her blog where you can see her latest lovely creation. Christine has the innate ability to be an enabler when it comes to Stampin' Up!

Happy Polished Pink Christmas

Welcome to Week 7 of the Art With Heart, Heart Of Christmas blog hop. This week our host is Sharon Davern.

This week I have a lovely bright Christmas card to share with you featuring one of the new In Colours Polished Pink.

After recently seeing some cards that my lovely upline, Christine Blain created it encouraged me to purchase the lovely Word Of Cheer bundle.

My starting point for this card was the lovely DSP from the Whimsy and Wonder pack. It features Mossy Meadow and Polished Pink, so I used those colours in Stampin Blends to colour the lovelyspray of flowers and leaves. I've then die cut this using the coordinateing die and mounted it on a piece of Shimmer paper that has been cut using one of the Ornate frames dies. I've also added a couple of sprigs cut from the Be Dazzling freebie paper that you can earn during Saleabration.

The sentiment is also from the Words of Cheer stamp set and has been stamped in Mossy Meadow and then die cut using one of the shapes in the Many Messages die. It turned out to be the perfect fit for the sentiment. Oh did I mention the the background DSP has been embossed using the Tasteful Textile folder just to, I think soften the paper somewhat.

All in all it's quite a bright card with the use of Polished Pink which is a very bright pink but I do actually have someone in mid for this, one of my lovely nieces who adores pink and bright pink in particular.

Stampin' Up! Cinnamon Cider Reminder

As I mentioned in my previous post for the Art With Colour Creations Showcase Blog Hop, I would have another Cinnamon Cider card to share with you and this is the other one I created.

For this card I have once again used the Nature's Harvest bundle and the Harvest Meadow DSP. The reeds have been die cut using Cinnamon Cider and Soft Succulent and then mounted on Basic White which has also been framed using the Cork Specialty Paper that has been cut using Stitched Rectangle dies.. This has all been mounted on a piece of DSP from the Harvest Meadow DSP that features Soft Succulent.. Then a couple of Brushed Metallic dots for interest.

Stampin' Up! Cinnamon Cider Healing Thoughts

Welcome to week 11 of the Art With Heart Colour Creations blog hop for 2021. This week's feature colour is Cinnamon Cider. Cinnamon Cider is one of the 2020-21 In Colours, a nice tan colour.

For this week's card I have decided to "break open" one of the new bundles from the July to December mini which is NOT a Christmas one, Nature's Harvest. As Stampin' Up! is based in America they are about to go into Fall(Autumn) thus the reason for these type of products being in this mini.

For the base of the card I have used Cinnamon Cider cardstock and then added a piece of Harvest Meadow DSP which I have embossed using the Tasteful Textile folder, but it's a bit hard to see as the DSP has fine script on it. I have then added a piece of Cork Specialty paper and on top of that a tag die cut from Tailor Made Tags. Then finally the bloom which is from the Natures Harvest stamp set and has a coordinating die. I have coloured it using Stampin' Blends in Cinnamon Cider, Pale Papaya and Soft Succulent.

The sentiment has been stamped in Cinnamon Cider and I think it is a really lovely sentiment. I also really love the Cork Specialty paper as it bring a lovely texture to creations.

Next in the blog hop tonight is Rosa Leyden If you click on the button below it will take you to her blog where you can see her latest lovely creation.

Poinsettia Christmas

Welcome to Week 6 of the Heart Of Christmas blog hop. This week our host is  Tina Gillespie.

This week I have decided to revisit an old favourite, Poinsettia Petals. The bundle consists of matching stamps, dies for cutting the petals but also dies to emboss the petals.

For the card base I have used one of the new In Colours, Evening Evergreen. This is then topped with a piece of DSP from  Painted Christmas which is by far my favourite Christmas paper in the mini. I have then added a piece of Basic White cardstock which has been embossed using one of the Wintry 3D folders. This one is snowflakes and the other in the pack is Pine needles.

The Poinsettia has been stamped in Real Red and then die cut and embossed. I have then added some sprigs and the flower centre cut from the Saleabration freebie, Be Dazzling Specialty paper. If you spend $90 you can earn this for free! Then finally a couple of Holiday Rhinestones.

Next in tonight's blog hop is Rosa LeydenClick on the button below and it should take you to her blog where you can see her beautiful creation for tonight. If the button doesn't work then you can always go to Tina Gillespie's blog where you can see a full list of tonight's participants.

Stampin' Up! Cherry Cobbler Blossoms

Welcome to week 10 of the Art With Heart Colour Creations blog hop for 2021. This week's feature colour is Cherry Cobbler. Cherry Cobbler is a member of the Regals family of colours and is a very strong deep red colour, quite often used in Christmas cards. This week I was determined NOT to use it for a Christmas card though.

Being such a strong colour I decided to tone it down by using Basic White and Sahara Sand. In this card I have used to of my favourite bundles, Quite Meadow and Forever Blossoms.

I chose to only colour the flower centres to try and emulate Cherry Blossom. Reminds me of Japan. Maybe I've been watching too much of the Olympics! I have actually added in another die cut and coloured flower and a couple of leaf sprigs just to fill the flower spray out a bit. The background card has been dry embossed using Tasteful Textiles to try an soften the background.

For the sentiment I have used one of the greetings from Quiet Meadow which also has a corresponding die. The sentiment has been embossed in White on Cherry Cobbler cardstock. Then finally a couple of Champagne Rhinestones.

Next in the blog hop tonight is Andrea Sargent . If you click on the button below it will take you to her blog where you can see her latest lovely creation.

Golden Merry Christmas

Welcome to week 5 of The Art With Heart, Heart of Christmas blog hop. This week we have a different host, Rachel Woollard.

For this week's card I was inspired when I watched  an Instagram reel by Teneale Williams. The technique uses Stampin' Blends, Vellum and Isopropyl Alcohol. As suggested by Teneale I also used the Diggers brand from Bunnings. How convenient is it that my son works there?

This would be by far the most messiest time I have ever had making a card but I have to say that the end results even impressed my Bunnings son!

To start with you colour splotches of the Vellum with your chosen colours of Stampin' Blends, just in any random fashion. In my case I have used Old Olive, Real Red and a little bit of Soft Suede. Once this is done the fun starts by adding the Isopropyl Alcohol. I chose to use a small paint brush and either let larger drops go or just tapped the brush to get smaller droplets. How this works is that the alcohol dissolves the colour of the blends . Leave this to dry. There is no right or wrong with this, that's what makes it effective.

I then chose to take it a step further and added in some Gilded Leafing. Once again more mess, but effective in adding some dimension to the panel. I actually cut a panel in the card front and placed the panel behind it. The sentiment is from Sparkle of the Season and has been die cut using one of the openings on the Picture This dies as it was the perfect size. Then I have just added a bow using the Gold Simply Elegant Trim and a few of the Brushed Metallic Dots.

Although this card created some mess I really did enjoy creating it and will definitely being using this method again. If you are not familiar with the method I would suggest either watching Teneale's Instagram reel or just google it.

Next in tonight's blog hop is Ros Davidson .Click on the button below and it should take you to her blog where you can see her beautiful creation for tonight. If the button doesn't work then you can always go to Rachel Woollard's blog where you will find a full list of the participants in tonight's blog hop.
