Stampin' Up! Merry Merlot

Welcome to week 27 of the Art With Heart Colour Creations blog hop for 2021. This week's feature colour is Merry Merlot which is surprisingly one of the Neutrals colours and as the colour suggests is a wine/burgundy colour.

For my card this week I have taken inspiration from a piece of beautiful paper from the Beauty of the Earth Designer Paper. I have used this as the background.

I have then added a piece of Merry Merlot cardstock topped with a piece of Basic White cardstock that I have embossed using the Stitched Greenery die. I have then stamped the tree image from the Beauty Of Friendship using the 2 step method, using Blushing Bride and Merry Merlot.  I have then die cut this using the corresponding die. I have also stamped the tree trunk and branches using Early Espresso and also die cut it with the corresponding die. The cute little birds have also been die cut from the Beautiful Trees dies in Misty Moonlight.

Can you see I've added a couple of Champagne Rhinestone for the birds eyes? The sentiment is also from the Beauty of Friendship stamp set and has been stamped in Merry Merlot and die cut with one of the rectangle dies from the Beautiful Trees die set. The twine I have used is from Bakers Twine Essential Pack.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Rachel Woollard. I look forward to seeing what lovely creation she has share with us tonight.

If the "next" button link is not working or you would like to see a full list of participants then go to Catherine Proctor's blog where you can see a full list of tonight's participants.

Remember to come back again next week when our feature colour will be Mint Macaron one of the Subtles colours

  1. Beautiful use of colour on your card, T ... you have made Merry Merlot look lovely! Blushing Bride and Merry Merlot look surprisingly good together, and the Misty Moonlight birds complement the background paper so nicely. Beautiful job, my friend!

  2. Theresa, I love how you have used the colours of the DSP in your tree and bird. They are not the colours you'd expect but they look fantastic on your card.

  3. Theresa, this is gorgeous. I love the tones on the background DSP, how it is darker at the bottom. The Blushing Bride & Merry Merlot tree is stunning and those little Misty Moonlight birds are adorable!
