Stampin' Up! Coastal Cabana

This week, is week 18 in the Colour Creations blog hop and this week we continue our journey through the existing Stampin' Up! core colours, working in alphabetical order. This week our feature colour is  Coastal Cabana, a member of the Brights family of colours.

Recently I was blessed to become a Nanna for the first time, to our beautiful grandson Sebastian and so consequently I couldn't resist purchasing the stamp set Construction Zone recently, even though it will be quite sometime before I use if for him. In the meantime I can have some fun playing with it.

The colour combination I have used this week to feature Coastal Cabana, is to pair it with Night of Navy and Poppy Parade. A nice bold combination that works well together.

The background piece was created using the Stitched Plaid stamp in Night of Navy and then using Stampin Markers in Coastal Cabana and Poppy Parade to add the additional lines.

The cement truck has been stamped in Black memento and then coloured using Stampin Blends in Poppy Parade and Smokey Slate for the tyres. This was then die cut using Nested Essentials and then mounted onto another die cut piece in Coastal Cabana.

The construction worker and his balloons were also coloured using Stampin Blends in Night of Navy and Poppy Parade. Strangely enough Stampin' Up! does not have a Stampin Blend in Coastal Cabana so I have used one of the markers instead. This has also been die cut using the Nested Essentials and mounted onto Poppy Parade.

The sentiment also from the stamp set, Construction Zone, has been embossed in White onto Coastal Cabana and also die cut using Nested Essentials.

The little stars in Night of Navy, Poppy Parade and Coastal Cabana have been die cut using the stars in the Sentiment Silhouette dies.

As the inside of the card is dark , being Night of Navy, I have added White and Coastal Cabana panels cut using the Deckled Rectangle dies and added a few more of the balloons, coloured again with Stampin Blends.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Tina Gillespie. I look forward to seeing this week's beautiful creation.

AWH Heart of Christmas Week 4

Welcome to Week 4 of the Art With Heart, Heart of Christmas. This year we will be hopping weekly, so hopefully we can provide you with some festive inspiration. Our host for this year's blog hop is the lovely Sharon Davern.

Finally I have had time to have a play with some of the newest goodies from the very soon to be released September to December mini catalogue and there really are some beautiful products. As a demonstrator I am able to preorder the products that others who aren't demonstrators can order from later this week.

My background for this card is a piece of the beautiful Joyful Specialty Paper featuring Cherry Cobbler and Gold. On top of this I have mounted another new paper from Joy of Christmas featuring Cherry Cobbler and Real Red. This has been die cut using one of the Countryside Corners dies.

I have then stamped a couple of the spray images from the new and upcoming Joy of Noel stamp set. These have then been coloured using Real Red and Old Olive Stampin' Blends. Rather than having to fussy cut these, thankfully there is a corresponding die.

Next the word "Noel" also from the Joy of Noel stamp set has been stamped in Versamark and embossed in Gold. Once again there are corresponding dies for these letters. These have been mounted onto another piece of white card that has been stamped using the "marker to stamp" technique and then die cut. The small leaves, also from the Joy of Noel stamp set have been stamped off using Old Olive.

Finally a few Festive Pearls have been added for some bling.

As the base of the card is Real Red and quite dark, the inside of the card has been decorated using the Countryside Corner stamp and die as well as a few coloured Berry Sprigs, also from Joy of Noel.

Next on tonight's blog hop is the lovely Kate Morgan. Click on the button below and it should take you to her blog where you can see her Inspiring Festive creation.

Stampin' Up! Calypso Coral

This week, is week 16 in the Colour Creations blog hop and this week we continue our journey through the existing Stampin' Up! core colours, working in alphabetical order. This week our feature colour is  Calypso Coral, a member of the Subtles family and as the name suggests is a bold coral colour.

At a recent team day our blog hop host, Cathy Proctor, guided us through a Make and Take project featuring the stamp set "Just My Type".  This is not necessarily a stamp set that I would usually purchase but after much encouragement from Cathy and my upline, Christine Blain, I decided to make the most of a recent discounted stamp sale day, and purchased it. My creation today for Calypso Coral features that stamp set, as well as some gorgeous new paper, Garden Walk, which I used for the colour combination inspiration.

My first step for this card was to stamp multiple flower images using Memento Black onto White card. I then coloured these using Calyso Coral and Pretty Peacock Stampin Blends.

To this I added a border top and bottom cut using the edge die from Darling Details dies and Calypso Coral card. Because I didn't like the raw edge of the card showing I added strips of the new Calypso Coral Braided Linen Trim. I look forward to using this more in the future by separating the strands of the ribbon as I think it will work well.

As I thought the flower panel looked a bit "lack lustre" I added a bit of Wink of Stella to brighten it up.

The floral panel has then been mounted onto a piece of the Garden Walk paper that has been embossed using the Timeworn Type embossing folder. This has then all been mounted onto a piece of Pretty Peacock card and then White.

For the sentiment I have used Calypso Coral ink onto White card. The word stamps as a whole but I wanted to separate each of the letters. I'd like to say that I fussy cut each of the letters but not being a fan of fussy cutting I used my retired 3/4 inch punch. The letters were mounted using dimensionals.

Finally I have added a few of the also new Blooming Pearls in Pretty Peacock.

As there were some extra coloured flower images I have added one to the inside of the card, mounted onto Calypso Coral card, along with a strip of the reverse side of the Garden Walk paper.

Next in tonight's blog hop is our fancy fold queen, Sharon Davern. I look forward to seeing this week's beautiful creation.

AWH Heart of Christmas Week 2

Welcome to Week 2 of the Art With Heart, Heart of Christmas. This year we will be hopping weekly, so hopefully we can provide you with some festive inspiration. Our host for this year's blog hop is the lovely Sharon Davern.

As I was going on a long weekend away I had to create early for this week's blog hop and at the time was still waiting for my preorder from the upcoming Mini catalogue to arrive. So with limited festive supplies I am going to show you that you don't necessarily always have to have all festive products to create festive cards.

Yes the sentiment and the shape it is embossed on, is from an existing stamp set, Brightest Glow and Labels Aglow dies but the remains of the card are all non festive products. As can be seen the sentiment has been embossed in gold onto White cardstock.

The White card base has been dry embossed using one of the Basics 3D embossing folders that are only available on the online store.

All of the foliage under the sentiment has been die cut using the dies from the Timeless Arrangements Dies which accompany the Timeless Arrangements stamp set which is an All Occasion sentiment stamp set. Cardstock colours used are Real Red, Garden Green and for some bling I have used Gold More Dazzle Specialty Paper.

For some even more added bling I have used some Gold Simply Elegant Trim and a few of the new Blooming Pearls in Gold.

Next on tonight's blog hop is the lovely Kate Morgan. Click on the button below and it should take you to her blog where you can see her lovely Festive creation.

Stampin' Up! Cajun Craze

This week, is week 15 in the Colour Creations blog hop and this week we continue our journey through the existing Stampin' Up! core colours, working in alphabetical order. This week our feature colour is  Cajun Craze, a member of the Regals family and a colour that I don't tend to use very much.

Cajun Craze is a very bold colour very much like Terracotta and in saying so is also quite polarizing. For me it is one of my least used colours due to its boldness. Often when I am looking for inspiration I will turn to the the beautiful papers that Stampin' Up! creates and this week I have used a couple of the pieces of the Fresh As A Daisy papers.

It is not particularly clear to see in the photo but I have actually used two different papers and die cut them using the Patchwork Pieces dies. To break up and soften the piece featuring Pretty Peacock I have embossed it using one of the 3D Basics embossing folders. When creating my card I cut 2 pieces of the paper, the one featuring Pretty Peacock and another featuring Cajun Craze and the white daisies. I have then alternated each of the papers and adhered them to a piece of White cardstock.

This has then been adhered to a piece of Cajun Craze cardstock that has been stamped using the floral trio stamp and Versamark so as to give a softer image.

I have then used White cardstock and the Cheerful Daisies dies to cut the Daisy Spray. I have sponged the centres with Cajun Craze and a sponge douber.

I have added some Gold Simply Elegant Trim behind the Daisies as well as some Gold Neutrals Adhesive Backed Sequins to the flower centres.

The sentiment is also from the Cheerful Daisies stamp set and has been stamped in Cajun Craze. The die used for the sentiment is also from the Cheerful Daisies die set.

Next in tonight's blog hop is  our lovely host Cathy Proctor. I look forward to seeing this week's beautiful creation.

AWH Heart of Christmas Week 1

Welcome to another year of the Art With Heart, Heart of Christmas. This year we will be hopping weekly, so hopefully we can provide you with some festive inspiration. Our host for this year's blog hop is the lovely Sharon Davern. I have to say how lovely is our header?

For my first card of this year's blog hop I have chosen one of the new stamp sets available as an online exclusive, Be Very Merry, which at the time of this blog hop is currently unavailable as it was so popular and has sold out so here's hoping that more stock becomes available soon. Apart from the feature image and the sentiment all other elements are available from the Annual Catalogue.

The base panel of the card has been embossed using the Merry Melody 3D Embossing folder and White cardstock. I have then added a piece of Poppy Parade card that has been die cut using one of the Scallop Contour dies. On top of this I have added a piece of the Brights paper in Poppy Parade.

I have added a band of Burlap ribbon and also some Sweet Sorbet In Colour Bakers Twine. Since there is no Bakers Twine in Poppy Parade I thought the Sweet Sorbet was close enough.

The Stained Glass Santa image has been coloured using Stampin Blends in Pecan Pie, Poppy Parade and Boho Blue. This has been punched out using the 2 3/8 circle punch.

The sentiment is also from Be Very Merry and has been embossed in Gold and die  cut using one of the Nested Essentials dies.

Finally I have added a couple of Gold Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots.

I really enjoyed colouring the Stained Glass image and there are others on the same stamp set so here's hoping that more stock arrives and it is available again.

Next on tonight's blog hop is the lovely Rachel Woollard. Click on the button below and it should take you to her blog where you can see her lovely Festive creation.

If the button link is not working or you would like to see the entire list of participants go to our lovely host Sharon Davern's blog.

Stampin' Up! Blueberry Bushel

This week, is week 14 in the Colour Creations blog hop and this week we continue our journey through the existing Stampin' Up! core colours, working in alphabetical order. This week our feature colour is  Blueberry Bushel, a member of the Regals family and is actually a returning In Colour from some years ago.

This week I decided I needed to break away from the feminine cards that I have been making of late and as luck would have it a good friend of ours is celebrating a "significant" birthday this coming weekend. Thankfully he is rarely on any form of social media so is unlikely to see this. As he is an avid fisherman it was only natural to create using the Gone Fishing bundle. I have teamed Blueberry Bushel with Boho Blue and a touch of Calypso Coral and Pebbled Path.

I started with what I would call the reverse side of the Let's Go Fishing paper. I have then mounted Boho Blue and Blueberry Bushel cardstock that has been die cut using the wave die in the Gone Fishing dies which also features some embossing which you can see in a photo further down. I have also randomly stamped the Blueberry Bushel card using Blueberry Bushel ink and the what I would call the "current" stamp.

Each of the pieces of fishing tackle have been stamped onto Very Vanilla card using Blueberry Bushel, Calypso Coral and Pebbled Path. They have then been die cut using the matching dies from the bundle. I have then tied them using single strands of the Linen thread.

The fish are actually from the Let's Go Fishing paper that have been die cut using a die from the Gone Fishing die set. How good is it that the dies can also be used with the paper rather than fussy cutting! I have also used some Wink of Stella on the fish to make it look like the fish scales.

The sentiment is from Celebrate With Tags and has been stamped in Blueberry Bushel onto Very Vanilla card. For the "th" I have used the word birthday and cut away the irrelevant letters. I can't say this was my idea but one of a fellow team member, Cathy Proctor. For the numerals I have used the Alphabet A La Mode dies, Blueberry Bushel cardstock and Adhesive Sheets.

Finally I have added a couple of Pebbled Path In Colour Dots.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the Queen of the fancy fold cards, Sharon Davern.  I look forward to seeing this week's beautiful creation.
