AWH Heart of Christmas Week 4

Welcome to Week 4 of the Art With Heart, Heart of Christmas. This year we will be hopping weekly, so hopefully we can provide you with some festive inspiration. Our host for this year's blog hop is the lovely Sharon Davern.

Finally my preorder has arrived and I have managed to have a play with some of the gorgeous new goodies for this week's blog hop. I've gone with a traditional colour combination of Real Red, Mossy Meadow and Old Olive.

A piece of white card that has been stamped using the Sketched Plaid background stamp and Real Red ink has been adhered to the Real Red card base. I have then embossed a piece of Graceful Greenery Vellum using the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing folder and carefully adhered this to the Sketched Plaid background being careful where to place the glue.

Each of the trees from the Peaceful Evergreen stamp set were stamped in Old Olive and Mossy Meadow and then die cut using the dies from the Peaceful Evergreen dies. These were then adhered to the vellum.

Using White and Real Red card for the definition, the word Christmas was die cut using the Peaceful Season dies. For the word "Merry" it was stamped in Versamark and embossed in White and then also die cut.

Some Real Red and White Bakers Twine was wrapped around the top of the card and a bow also adhered. Trick- another place to adhere the glue to the vellum without being seen!

I've coloured a few Iridescent Pearls using a Real Red Stampin Blend and added a star die cut using some of the Cherry Cobbler Glimmer paper.

As the card base is Real Red, I've added a piece of White card die cut using one of the Deckled Rectangles and stamped the sentiment from Peaceful Season in Real Red and some trees from Peaceful Evergreen in Old Olive.

Stampin' Up! Summer Splash

Welcome to a Week 5 of the Colour Creations Showcase blog hop. This week we end our journey through the New In Colours for 2024-26 Stampin' Up!, working in alphabetical order. This week our feature colour is  the Summer Splash. A lovely blue green that sits between Lost Lagoon and Coastal Cabana on the Stampin' Up! Colour Wheel.

This week the focus bundle is Layering Leaves which rather than dies comes with a coordinating punch. The bundle was also in last year's Annual Catalogue but has sat in my cupboard barely touched. Along with White Summer Splash has been coordinated with a touch of Calypso Coral and Copper.

To start with sprigs of leaves from Layering Leaves were embossed using Copper and then coloured using Summer Splash and Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends. The coordinating Bough punch were used to cut them out along with a couple of smaller sprigs using Summer Splash card.

The pots were created using the 2 3/8ths circle punch and then cut in half. One pot using In Colour Designer Series Paper in Summer Splash and the other using the Sketched Plaid stamp, white card and Summer Splash ink.

This has all been adhered to a white card base that has been embossed using the Exposed Brick 3D embossing folder.

The sentiment also from Layering Leaves has been stamped in Summer Splash on white card and then die cut using one of the Stylish Shapes dies.

Finally a bow using white 1/4" Diagonal Trim ribbon from the combo pack with Petal Pink, and a couple of Copper Adhesive Backed Metallic Gems have been added.

For the card inside I have added a few of the leftover sprigs, that have been embossed in copper and coloured.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the talented Vicki Boucher. I look forward to seeing her beautiful creation this week.

If the "next" button link is not working or you would like to see a full list of participants then you can hop over to our host Cathy Proctor where you can see a full list of tonight's participants.

Stampin' Up! Coastal Cabana

This week, is week 18 in the Colour Creations blog hop and this week we continue our journey through the existing Stampin' Up! core colours, working in alphabetical order. This week our feature colour is  Coastal Cabana, a member of the Brights family of colours.

Recently I was blessed to become a Nanna for the first time, to our beautiful grandson Sebastian and so consequently I couldn't resist purchasing the stamp set Construction Zone recently, even though it will be quite sometime before I use if for him. In the meantime I can have some fun playing with it.

The colour combination I have used this week to feature Coastal Cabana, is to pair it with Night of Navy and Poppy Parade. A nice bold combination that works well together.

The background piece was created using the Stitched Plaid stamp in Night of Navy and then using Stampin Markers in Coastal Cabana and Poppy Parade to add the additional lines.

The cement truck has been stamped in Black memento and then coloured using Stampin Blends in Poppy Parade and Smokey Slate for the tyres. This was then die cut using Nested Essentials and then mounted onto another die cut piece in Coastal Cabana.

The construction worker and his balloons were also coloured using Stampin Blends in Night of Navy and Poppy Parade. Strangely enough Stampin' Up! does not have a Stampin Blend in Coastal Cabana so I have used one of the markers instead. This has also been die cut using the Nested Essentials and mounted onto Poppy Parade.

The sentiment also from the stamp set, Construction Zone, has been embossed in White onto Coastal Cabana and also die cut using Nested Essentials.

The little stars in Night of Navy, Poppy Parade and Coastal Cabana have been die cut using the stars in the Sentiment Silhouette dies.

As the inside of the card is dark , being Night of Navy, I have added White and Coastal Cabana panels cut using the Deckled Rectangle dies and added a few more of the balloons, coloured again with Stampin Blends.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Tina Gillespie. I look forward to seeing this week's beautiful creation.
