Stampin' Up! Balmy Blue

Welcome to a Week 8 of the Colour Creations Showcase blog hop. This week we continue our journey through the remaining Stampin' Up! core colours, working in alphabetical order, with this week's feature colour being Balmy Blue. Balmy Blue is a soft blue that sits between Pool Party and Azure Afternoon on the colour wheel and is a member of the Subtle group of colours.

This week the bundle that I have chosen, is as they say and oldie but a goodie, Cheerful Daisies. Balmy Blue has been teamed with Misty Moonlight and White.

Each of the daisies have been stamped onto white card using Versamark  and then embossed with white powder. The flower centres have been stamped in Misty Moonlight and the daisy petals coloured using Balmy Blue Stampin Blends. Each of the daisies have then been die cut using the dies from the Cheerful Daisies dies. The foliage has been die cut using Misty Moonlight card.

The daisies have been mounted onto a base where half is a piece of the Balmy Blue Designer Series paper and the other half a piece of white card that has been embossed using the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing folder. Splatters of Misty Moonlight ink have been added to the white side to soften the effect. This was done by flicking the end of a Misty Moonlight marker against the lid.

To highlight the flower centres, Wink of Stella has been used on the Misty Moonlight.

The sentiment, that has been stamped in Misty Moonlight onto white card is from the new bundle Unbounded Love and has also been die cut using one of the dies from the Unbounded Love dies.

Finally a bow using the Balmy Blue Bakers Twine from the Three Colour Pack, and a few Misty Moonlight gems from the the Tinsel Gems Three pack have been added.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the talented Sharon Davern. I look forward to seeing her lovely creation this week.

Stampin' Up! Pumpkin Pie

This week, is week  43 in the Colour Creations blog hop and this week we continue our journey through the existing Stampin' Up! core colours, working in alphabetical order. This week our feature colour is  Pumpkin Pie, a member of the Brights family of colour and is similar to the colour of a Pumpkin as the name suggests.

For this week's card I have gone back and revisited the gorgeous Cheerful Daisies bundle as well as a new Online Exclusive bundle, Happy Little Things, and teamed Pumpkin Pie simply with Black and White and used lots of embossing, which happens to be one of my favourite techniques. I just love watching the embossing powder melt when heat is applied. So effective.

For the background I have selected a piece of the Stargazing Designer Series Paper and stamped one of the Cheerful Daisies stamps multiple times using Versamark. The daisies have then been embossed in White. Given the paper has multiple shades this was thought to be enough for the background.

A large bow using Black and White Gingham has been placed under the sentiment panel.

Both of the sentiments are from the new online exclusive bundle, Happy Little Things. The stamp set has largish words in both outline and solid that can be matched with smaller phrases. In this case the outline stamp has been embossed in Black. Strange but true, I don't own Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends so I have used Blender Pens and a Pumpkin Pie ink pad to lightly colour the infill of the sentiment.

On closer inspection it appears that I may have accidentally knocked off some of the embossing powder on each end of the word "Celebrate". Before stamping "Celebrate" another Cheerful Daisies stamp was stamped off several times  using Pumpkin Pie.

The smaller of the sentiments has been embossed in White on Black cardstock and then die cut using one of the Happy Little Things dies.

Finally a few Adhesive Backed Shiny Sequins in Pumpkin Pie have been added for some bling.

For the inside of the card a couple of different Daisies also from the Cheerful Daisies stamp set have been stamped in Pumpkin Pie on White and die cut, along with a leftover strip of the Paper used on the front of the card.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the talented  Christine Blain. I look forward to seeing this week's beautiful creation.

Stampin' Up! Cajun Craze

This week, is week 15 in the Colour Creations blog hop and this week we continue our journey through the existing Stampin' Up! core colours, working in alphabetical order. This week our feature colour is  Cajun Craze, a member of the Regals family and a colour that I don't tend to use very much.

Cajun Craze is a very bold colour very much like Terracotta and in saying so is also quite polarizing. For me it is one of my least used colours due to its boldness. Often when I am looking for inspiration I will turn to the the beautiful papers that Stampin' Up! creates and this week I have used a couple of the pieces of the Fresh As A Daisy papers.

It is not particularly clear to see in the photo but I have actually used two different papers and die cut them using the Patchwork Pieces dies. To break up and soften the piece featuring Pretty Peacock I have embossed it using one of the 3D Basics embossing folders. When creating my card I cut 2 pieces of the paper, the one featuring Pretty Peacock and another featuring Cajun Craze and the white daisies. I have then alternated each of the papers and adhered them to a piece of White cardstock.

This has then been adhered to a piece of Cajun Craze cardstock that has been stamped using the floral trio stamp and Versamark so as to give a softer image.

I have then used White cardstock and the Cheerful Daisies dies to cut the Daisy Spray. I have sponged the centres with Cajun Craze and a sponge douber.

I have added some Gold Simply Elegant Trim behind the Daisies as well as some Gold Neutrals Adhesive Backed Sequins to the flower centres.

The sentiment is also from the Cheerful Daisies stamp set and has been stamped in Cajun Craze. The die used for the sentiment is also from the Cheerful Daisies die set.

Next in tonight's blog hop is  our lovely host Cathy Proctor. I look forward to seeing this week's beautiful creation.

Stampin' Up! Lemon Lolly

This week, is week 8 in the Colour Creations blog hop and this week we continue our journey through the New Stampin' Up! core colours, working in alphabetical order. This week our feature colour is the lovely Lemon Lolly, a beautiful as the name suggests pale lemon colour. Like last week's new Core Colour, Bubble Bath, Lemon Lolly is also perfect for baby cards but also for floral cards, whichn is what I have chosen.

This week I have chosen to finally "break open" the Cheerful Daisies bundle and revisit a technique that I haven't done for ages in watercolouring. I have chosen to pair Lemon Lolly with Parakeet Party and a little bit of Calypso Coral.

My starting point was to stamp the largest and smallest of the Daisy outline images in Versamark onto Watercolour Paper and then emboss them in white. I have coloured all of the petals using WaterPainters and Lemon Lolly ink to start with and then added the flower centres and inner highlights using Calypso Coral. These flowers once dry were then die cut using the matching dies from the Cheerful Daisies dies.

These daisies have then been adhered to a piece of White cardstock that has been embossed using my favourite of the Basics 3D embossing folders and die cut using one of the Radiating Stitiches dies.

I have popped a couple of the sprigs behind the Daisies, that have been die cut using one of the Cheerful Daisies dies and Parakeet Party cardstock.

This has then all been mounted onto a piece of Bright and Beautiful paper that features Lemon Lolly, and has also been die cut using the largest of the Radiating Stitches dies. Finally this has been mounted onto thick White cardstock.

The sentiment is from another favourite, Go To Greetings, and has been stamped in Parakeet Party and die cut using another of the Cheerful Daisies dies.

Finally I have added a couple of Brushed Brass Butterflies.

Next in tonight's blog hop is our lovely host Cathy Proctor. I look forward to seeing this week's beautiful creation.
