Stampin' Up! Pool Party

This week, week 39 in the Colour Creations blog hop we continue our journey  featuring all of the Core Stampin' Up! colours, in alphabetical order. This week's feature colour  Pool Party, which is a member of the Subtles colour group.

Once again this week I have chosen to use the lovely Dandy Designs paper which you can earn during Saleabration when you spend $180, but you need to be quick as the offer ends at the end of February.

I have also used one of the new bundles available from the new Mini catalogue, Sentimental Park, and I have teamed this with some favourites from the Annual Catalogue.

My starting point for the card was to emboss a piece of the Dandy Designs paper using the Splatter folder from the Stripes and Splatters 3D embossing folders.  There is a close up below.

I have then adhered a piece of Basic White cardstock that has been die cut using one of the Split Card Textures dies. Using the adhesive sheets makes adhering this to the card easier.

The "Sending" word has been die cut using Basic White and Pool Party cardstock and then mounted using Dimensionals.

The sentiment is from Amazing Year, from the Annual Catalogue and has been stamped in Pool Party and die cut using one of the dies from the Sentimental Park dies.

The flower sprigs, from the Sentimental Park stamp set have been stamped using Versamark onto Shimmery White cardstock and then embossed in White. I have then coloured the flowers using Pool Party Stampin' Blends. The flower centres are Pool Party Glossy Dots.

The bow has been tied using White Bakers Twine that has been coloured using Pool Party ink and a Blending Brush, just to soften the starkness of the white.

As I mentioned last week, this year I am making a concerted effort to decorate both the inside of the card and the envelope. This time I have made an envelope liner using the same paper which you can see in the first photo.

For the card inside I have stamped a sentiment also from Amazing Year onto a piece of the same paper from Dandy Designs and then die cut it using another die from Sentimental Park dies.

Next in tonight's blog hop is our lovely host Cathy Proctor. I look forward to seeing what she has created for us this week.

Stampin' Up! Fresh Freesia

This week, week 21 in the Colour Creations blog hop we continue our journey  featuring all of the Core Stampin' Up! colours, in alphabetical order. This week's feature colour  Fresh Freesia, is a member of the In Colours colour group for 2021-23.

I started this card not really knowing what direction I was going to take but that I wanted to colour  piece of the Perfectly Penciled Paper using Fresh Freesia and one of the In Colours from this year, Parakeet Party. I then went searching on Pinterest for a layout that would work and came across this one.

Here is my version of the sketch featuring Fresh Freesia, and added in Parakeet Party.

I have mounted the coloured piece of Perfectly Penciled paper onto one of the reverse sides of Butterfly Kisses, featuring Fresh Freesia.

The central and focal point of my card is an image from Blessings of Home that has been coloured using Fresh Freesia and Parakeet Party Stampin Blends and then die cut with the corresponding die.

I have mounted this onto a piece of Basic White cardstock that I have die cut using one of the Painted Labels dies and then embossed using the "Splatter"folder of the Stripes and Splatters Embossing folders.

This has then been mounted onto another reverse sided piece of Butterfly Kisses that has been die cut using one of the Deckled Rectangle dies.

I have added a couple of die cuts from Flowers of Home dies to the left side of this panel and few Loose Flower Flourishes to the right.

The sentiment is also from Blessings of Home and has been stamped onto Fresh Freesia cardstock and embossed in White. Finally it was die cut using one of the Sending dies.

Next in tonight's blog hop is my talented upline Christine Blain. I look forward to seeing her lovely creation.

Stampin' Up! Blushing Bride

This week, week 10 in the Colour Creations blog hop we continue our journey  featuring all of the Core Stampin' Up! colours, in alphabetical order. This week's feature colour is Blushing Bride, a member of the Subtles colour group .

This week I was determined not to make a baby girl card as Blushing Bride is one of my "go to" colours for baby girl cards. Instead I have decided to feature one of the super cute stamp sets and matching dies that you can earn during the current Salebration period. For every $90 you spend you can choose from a selection of great freebies. In the case this week I have chosen to feature the Hippest Hippo stamp set and coordinating dies and paired Blushing Bride with Basic Gray and White.

To start with I stamped 2 of the Hippo images in Basic Gray and then watercoloured them using Basic Gray for the main part. As there is no Blushing Bride watercolour pencil, I used the "smoosh" (for want of a better term) some ink on the lid technique where you use a Blender Pen to colour the image. I then die cut these little cuties using the coordinating dies.

These were then mounted on scalloped circle of Vellum along with a couple of cute hearts in Blushing Bride. I have then embossed 2 pieces of Designer Series Paper, one from Abigail Rose and one from Awash In Beauty, using the Splatters embossing folder from the Stripes and Splatters 3D embossing folders duo. This was then mounted on a piece of White cardstock that has been embossed using the Gingham embossing folder. The photo below shows the embossing in a bit more detail.

On the bottom of the Blushing Bride paper I have added a small border using the scalloped edge from Penned Flowers dies.

I have added a few cute flowers also in Blushing Bride and using the Hippest Hippo dies. The cute little hearts are also from the die set.

The sentiment is from the Hippest Hippo stamp set and has been stamped using Basic Gray and die cut with one of the dies from Beautiful Shapes. Finally I have added a few Iridescent Rhinestone Jewels to the flower centres and randomly on the card.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Diane Furness. I look forward to seeing her lovely creation.

Stampin' Up! Sweet Sorbet

Welcome to Week 4 of the new Colour Creations Blog Hop for 2022-2023. This week we are featuring another of the new In Colours and this time it is Sweet Sorbet which is a lovely pinky red colour that I can see being used a lot for Christmas cards this year.

For my card this week I have teamed Sweet Sorbet with Old Olive, White and a hint of Black and Daffodil Delight. I have also enjoyed playing with some more of the new products from the latest Annual Catalogue.

My starting point for this weeks card was to cut a piece of the Perfectly Pencilled DSP to fit the largest of the Fabulous Frames dies and then to colour it using Sweet Sorbet, Old Olive and a hint of Daffodil Delight Stampin Blends.  The frame has been die cut using Old Olive cardstock. I have then mounted this on a piece of Sweet Sorbet cardstock that has been embossed using one of the Stripes and Splatters 3D embossing folders. This has then all been mounted on Thick Basic White cardstock.

I have then die cut the word "Sending" using the die from the Sending Smiles bundle. I have first cut the outline using Black cardstock and then another using White. I have offset the White to the Black to create a shadow like appearance. I have then adhered a piece of Sweet Sorbet cardstock to an Adhesive Sheet and then die cut it using the finer lettering die. By using the Adhesive Sheets it makes it so much easier to stick the lettering to the outline. Below is a close up to show the shadow effect.

I have then stamped the sentiment in Versamark and embossed it using White embossing powder and then die cut it using another of the frame dies from the Sending Smiles bundle. Finally a double bow using the Sweet Sorbet In Colour twine and a couple of Daffodil Delight Glossy Dots for a bit of bling.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Michele Taylor. I am sure as always she will create a beautiful card.

If the "next" button link is not working or you would like to see a full list of participants then you can hop over to Cathy Proctor's blog where you can see a full list of tonight's participants.

Don't forget to pop back next week when our feature colour will be the last in our sequence of  the new In Colours, Tahitian Tide.

Stampin' Up! Poppy Parade

Welcome to week 37 of the Art With Heart Colour Creations blog hop for 2022. This week's feature colour is Poppy Parade, which is a member of the Brights colour group.

This year I am determined to create more cards for males as I usually have a tendency to make cards for females. This week I have tried to create a card that is suitable for a male but now that I have another look, it would also be suitable for a female car lover. I have finally inked up one of the stamp sets that you can earn during Salebration, Driving By, and I do think it is rather cute.

I started by using 2 different pieces of the All Together Designer Series Paper that is available from now until 2nd May. I have embossed these using the Gingham embossing folder. I have then wrapped some of the Poppy Parade and White Fan Bakers Twine around the belly of the card a few times. I have then die cut a piece of Poppy Parade cardstock using one of the Hippo and Friends dies and then embossed it using one of the Stripes and Splatters 3D folders. The photo below shows the details of the embossing a bit better.

Next I have stamped the sporty car image from Driving By in black and then coloured it with Poppy Parade and Smokey Slate Stampin Blends. Aren't all sports cars red? Lol!

For the stamped balloons I have used Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Misty Moonlight Stampin' Blends and I have also die cut some balloons in the same colour cardstock.

The sentiment is from Many Messages and has been stamped in Versamark and embossed in white. Finally some white Bakers Twine for the balloon ties and a few Classic Matte Dots in Black, Grey and White.

As I said earlier although I created this card with a male in mind I think it is equally suitable for a car-loving female.

Next in tonight's blog hop the  lovely Sharon Davern. I look forward to seeing what beautiful creation she has to share with us tonight.

If the "next" button link is not working or you would like to see a full list of participants then you can hop over to Catherine Proctor's blog where you can see a full list of tonight's participants.

Don't forget to pop back next week when our feature colour will be Pumpkin Pie which will definitely be a challenge as it is probably one of my least used colours.
