Garden Green Hello

Welcome to week 18 of the Art With Heart Colour Creations blog hop for 2021. This week's feature colour is Garden Green which is from the Regals colour group. Garden Green is quite a bold green colour and not my favourite of the Stampin' Up! greens.

For me it was a natural idea to finally ink up the Plentiful Plants stamp set and coordinating dies for this week's creation showcase blog hop. Now that I finally have I am wondering why I hadn't done it sooner! It's such a fun bundle to play with and has so many options.

I started with a piece of Garden Green cardstock and stamped the edges with with a couple of the stamps using Garden Green. I then embossed this cardstock using the Bark embossing folder. The photo below gives you a better view of it.

It's actually still a bit hard to see it there too but it adds some depth to the base if you understand what I mean.

Next I've added a piece of the "brickwork"DSP from the coordinating pack. Then finally I've had some fun putting together the hanging basket using both Garden green and Pear Pizzazz. This is the fun part and allows for so many different options. The pot itself has been stamped in Cinnamon Cider and the hanger for the pot has been die cut in Smokey Slate.

The sentiment is from the Many Messages bundle and has been die cut using the coordinating die. Another first for me was using this bundle and I really love all the different sentiments.

Finally I've added a small butterfly cut from the Silver foil Specialty paper in the current mini using a die from Nature's Thoughts. Lastly a couple of the Silver Epoxy Essentials and an Elegant Faceted Gem.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Caroline Manwaring. I look forward to seeing what lovely creation they share with us tonight.

Joy Of the Cloche

Wow well here we are at Week 13 of The Art With Heart Heart Of Christmas blog hop. This week our host is Sharon Davern.

Last week I enjoyed playing with the Classic Cloche bundle so much I decided to continue with it this week. This week instead of using the village scene I have chosen to use the cute little birds.

My starting point once again was to use the DSP for colour inspiration. This week the DSP is from the Tidings of Christmas pack which is in the Annual catalogue. Both of the pieces are from this pack and feature Cherry Cobbler and Sahara Sand. I've embossed the striped DSP using the Tasteful Textile folder just to soften the boldness.

I have then die cut another piece of the DSP using one of the Stitched So Sweetly dies. The next step was to stamp the Cloche outline using Basic Grey and then colour it using Stampin Blends. I've then die cut the Cloche with the corresponding die. The sentiment is also from the Classic Cloche stamp set in Cherry Cobbler and die cut using one of the Stitched Rectangle dies.

Finally I have tied a bow with 4 strands of Linen Thread and added a couple of Holiday Rhinestones, just for a bit of bling.

Flirty Flamingo Friend

Welcome to week 17 of the Art With Heart Colour Creations blog hop for 2021. This week's feature colour is Flirty Flamingo which is from the Brights colour group. Flirty Flamingo is a quite bold pink and definitely not a soft colour which I prefer.

This week I took my inspiration from a piece of the DSP from the Sweet Symmetry pack and also decided to ink up the coordinating In Symmetry stamp set for the first time. I have teamed Flirty Flamingo with Pear Pizzazz.

This time I actually stamped the image on some Basic White cardstock and then embossed the cardstock with the Ornate Floral folder. I have then die cut this piece with one of the Stitched So Sweetly dies. Then I have mounted this on a piece of the Sweet Symmetry DSP. Some people would call this the "b"side of the paper.

Ive added a few Rhinestones to the flower petals and flower centre. The sentiment is also from the In Symmetry stamp set and I have embossed it with White embossing powder on Flirty Flamingo cardstock. I have then die cut this using a smaller Stitiched So Sweetly die. Finally some ribbon and a bow using the White Glittered Organdy ribbon, from the current mini, which as well as some silver highlights also has some pink as well.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Tina Gillespie. I look forward to seeing what lovely creation they share with us tonight. Tina has the ability to create lovely monochromatic cards so I am interested to see her use of Flirty Flamingo.

Most Wonderful Time of The Year

Welcome to Week 12 of The Art With Heart Heart Of Christmas blog hop. This week our host is Sharon Davern.

This week I have decided to finally ink up and open up the Classic Cloche bundle on page 22 of the current mini and I have to say I love it. But then I say that about a lot of the Stampin Up products!

For my starting point I chose a piece of DSP from the returning Heartwarming Hugs and then this dictated the colours I chose for the stamped village image. First off I stamped the outline in Basic Grey, next the fill was stamped using Pear Pizzazz but stamped off, and finally Basic Grey again but also stamped off. I've then die cut the image using the corresponding dies. This image has then been popped up on a piece of Shimmery White cardstock that I have stamped the Cloche on in Basic Grey and also silver embossed some stars from Snowflake Wishes. Then the Cloche has also been die cut using the corresponding die.

Here is a close up of the silver stars as they arent so easy to see in the picture above.

The Cloche base has been die cut from the Silverest of the Silver foils and adhered to a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock.  Finally the sentiment is also from the Classic Cloche stamp set and I have used a stitched rectangle die . Finally a bow using the Simply Elegant Trim and a couple of Holiday Rhinestones to finish it off.

Early Espresso Inspired Thoughts

Welcome to week 16 of the Art With Heart Colour Creations blog hop for 2021. This week's feature colour is Early Espresso which is from the Neutrals colour group. Early Espresso is a dark brown colour.

A few weeks ago I experimented with Stampin Blends and Isopropyl Alcohol and I decided to use this technique again this week. The colours that I have used on the Vellum are Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red and Blackberry Bliss, working from the lightest colour to the darkest. Once dry I then sprayed the Vellum with the Isopropyl Alcohol and let the colours blend together and then dry. Giving the end result which reminds me very much of a bushfire scene very similar to what we experienced in Gippsland in December 2019.

I have then used the Inspired Canopy dies to cut the rolling hills and the trees in Early Espresso. I have actually separated the trees into 2 groups and added a couple of birds die cut with Be Dazzling Specialty Paper.

The sentiment is from the Beauty of Friendship stamp set and has been die cut using the corresponding die. I have also added some Linen Thread and a couple of Brushed Metallic Dots.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Sharon Davern. I look forward to seeing what lovely creation they share with us tonight. I wonder if it will be one of her fabulous fancy fold cards that she is so good at.

'Tis The Season for Baubles

Welcome to Week 11 of The Art With Heart Heart Of Christmas blog hop. This week our host is Tina Gillespie.

This week I have taken my inspiration from Page 24 of the July to December mini catalogue. Although I do love the traditional Christmas colours of Red, Green and White, these Pinks and Blues are a lovely alternate.

My starting point for this card was to stamp multiple images of the baubles from the Whimsical Trees stamp set using my stamparatus. I initially stamped the top row moving the plate along every second spot. I then moved the stamp down and stamped using the alternate spots on the Stamparatus. Using the Stamparatus makes it so easy to get multiple images at precise regular intervals.I then coloured the images using Stampin Blends. Then using the corresponding dies I stamped, coloured, and cut 2 more images and  placed them over the existing images to give some depth.

I've then added a banner along the top using the Silver foil from the Specialty pack in the mini and die cut it using the Basic Borders. I then mounted all of this on a piece of the matching DSP from the Whimsy and Wonder pack. I've added some of the Silver Simply Elegant Trim and the sentiment is from Christmas to Remember and has been die cut with the corresponding die from Seasonal Labels.

Daffodil Delight Friendship

Welcome to week 15 of the Art With Heart Colour Creations blog hop for 2021. This week's feature colour is Daffodil Delight which is from the Brights colour group. Daffodil Delight is a bright sunny yellow colour. Last week many of the participants of the Colour Creations blog hop paired Crushed Curry with Black and White but I had had that in mind for Daffodil Delight.

For my card this week I have finally inked up the Shaded Summer stamp set which if you spend $180 this month you can earn the coordinating dies for free.

My starting point was a piece of DSP from the "B side"of the Hand Penned paper pack. I then stamped this with one of the images in Daffodil Delight. I've then added a piece of the beautiful Black Shimmer paper that I have die cut using one of the Basic Borders dies. I have then placed another piece of DSP on top of this also from a "B side"but this time Simply Elegant.

The centrepiece of the card though is the floral spray from the Shaded Summer stamp set and then die cut with the Saleabration die. I've coloured it using Daffodil Delight and Old Olive blends. Finally a cute bow using the Black and White Gingham and a few Matte Black dots. Oh  and finally a cute little Bumblebee trinket perched on the flower.

The sentiment is also from the Shaded Summer stamp set and has been stamped and die cut using one of the Stitched So Sweetly dies.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Rachel Palmieri. I look forward to seeing what lovely creation they have to share with us this week.

Merriest Festive Season

Welcome to Week 10 of The Art With Heart Heart Of Christmas blog hop. This week our host is  Tina Gillespie.

This week I decided it was time break open the Merriest Moments bundle which consists of coordinating Embossing folder, dies and stamp set. It really enables you to make lots of beautiful cards with only the one bundle.

My starting point for this was card was to choose the background paper which has come from the Heartwarming Hugs DSP pack which was in last years mini but carried over to this year. It features the colours Real Red, Mossy Meadow, Pear Pizazz and White. So very traditional Christmas colours, which I love.

I have die cut and embossed a piece of Shimmer paper which is a bit hard to see in the photo above but the one below shows it off better.

The Poinsettia petals, fern leaves, holly leaves and berries have all been stamped in Real Red, Mossy Meadow and Pear Pizazz and then cut with the coordinating dies. For the centre of the Poinsettia I have used Be Dazzling and then topped it with a Holiday Rhinestone for some bling.

Finally the sentiment has been stamped in Real Read and then die cut with the label die in the set and popped up with dimensionals for some height variation.

I have to say I really enjoyed my first play with this bundle and I am sure that I will be creating more cards using it.

Crushed Curry Autumn

Welcome to week 14 of the Art With Heart Colour Creations blog hop for 2021. This week's feature colour is Crushed Curry which is from the Regals colour group. To me Crushed Curry conjours up imagines of Autumn so I have teamed it with Old Olive and Cajun Craze, which to me are all Autumnal colours.

Still thinking Autumn, for my card this week I decided to visit a technique that I haven't used for many many years but works a treat for Autumn leaves. The Baby Wipe technique.

For this technique all you need to do is drop ink onto a baby wipe at random and then stamp from that. In the case of this card I randomly dropped Old Olive, Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry reinkers onto the baby wipe. No special baby, just the Coles homebrand! I then randomly stamped the leaf from the Gorgeous Leaves stamp set. There is a matching die to most of the leaves so I then die cut each one. The great thing about this method is all of the different colour layouts that you create and no 2 are the same as you can see.

For the base of the card I have embossed a piece of white cardstock using the Timeworn Type embossing folder. Which you can see closer in this photo.

The sentiment has been stamped in Old Olive and is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set. I've added some randomly arranged Linen Thread and a few Brushed Metallic Dots.

I've really enjoyed revisiting this technique and love the different colour combinations it creates.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Rachel Woollard.I look forward to seeing what lovely creation they have to share with us this week.
