Stampin' Up Tahitian Tide

Welcome to Week 5 of the new Colour Creations Blog Hop for 2022-2023. This week we are featuring another of the new In Colours and this time it is Tahitian Tide which is a gorgeous aqua colour.

Things are so crazy busy in our house this week so much so that  I wasn't actually sure that I was going to be able to partake in this weeks Colour Creations Blog Hop but then I thought why not use it to my advantage!. You see our daughter gets married this Friday, our son has to submit his final thesis of his 5 year University course this week and my husbands mother who lives interstate is turning 90 next week and we are traveling there for the party! But then I thought why not create a birthday card for her using Tahitian Tide!.

As she is a bird lover and I have created a gift for her featuring bird life I thought why not  create a card to go with the gift. Strange but true I still hadn't inked up Garden Birdhouses so I decided that this would be a good choice as the new Sweet Songbirds, cute as it is isn't really appropriate for a 90th!

I started by stamping a couple of the bird houses and the poles in Black Memento ink and then coloured them using Tahitian Tide, Granny Apple Green and Soft Suede Stampin Blends. I then stamped some of the grasses using Granny Apple Green. Then to soften the starkness of the Basic White background I lightly brushed some Tahitian Tide ink using a Blending Brush. I then die cut this image with one of the new Deckled Rectangle dies and sponged around the outside. I then mounted this on a piece of Tahitian Tide DSP that has been embossed using the Painted Texture embossing folder. This was then mounted on thick White cardstock.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set and has been stamped in Versamark and then embossed in White. It has then been die cut using one of the Beautiful Shapes dies.

For a bit of bling I have added some Iridescent Pearls some of which I have coloured using the Tahitian Tide Stampin Blend. I have also added a bow using the Tahitian Tide Bakers Twine.

Since this was for a significant birthday I thought I had better decorate the inside of the card as well.

As I have yet to purchase the new Alphabest Bundle I had to resort to using the long time retired Large Numbers Framelits, which I have die cut the numbers using some of the leftover Tahitian Tide DSP. I have then stamped one of the sentiments from the new Charming Sentiments stamp set and die cut it using the corresponding dies. How good is this bundle? No fussy cutting! Finally I have die cut a couple of what I would call star bursts, from the Sentiment Silhouette dies using some of the beautiful new In Colour Glimmer paper which is gorgeous and sparkly. Hopefully you can see that in my photo.

As well as cardmaking I also love to work with fabric, either quilt making or also machine embroidery. For my Mother In Laws 90th Birthday I have created a bird scene. As I know she won't see this blog, at 90 although she is on Facebook that's about where her technology ends, I thought I would share  a photo of it with you.

I have to say that although I can see a couple of errors that have occurred in the stretching for the framing I am still happy with the end result as I am sure she will also be.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Diane Furness. I am sure as always she will create a beautiful card.

Stampin' Up! Sweet Sorbet

Welcome to Week 4 of the new Colour Creations Blog Hop for 2022-2023. This week we are featuring another of the new In Colours and this time it is Sweet Sorbet which is a lovely pinky red colour that I can see being used a lot for Christmas cards this year.

For my card this week I have teamed Sweet Sorbet with Old Olive, White and a hint of Black and Daffodil Delight. I have also enjoyed playing with some more of the new products from the latest Annual Catalogue.

My starting point for this weeks card was to cut a piece of the Perfectly Pencilled DSP to fit the largest of the Fabulous Frames dies and then to colour it using Sweet Sorbet, Old Olive and a hint of Daffodil Delight Stampin Blends.  The frame has been die cut using Old Olive cardstock. I have then mounted this on a piece of Sweet Sorbet cardstock that has been embossed using one of the Stripes and Splatters 3D embossing folders. This has then all been mounted on Thick Basic White cardstock.

I have then die cut the word "Sending" using the die from the Sending Smiles bundle. I have first cut the outline using Black cardstock and then another using White. I have offset the White to the Black to create a shadow like appearance. I have then adhered a piece of Sweet Sorbet cardstock to an Adhesive Sheet and then die cut it using the finer lettering die. By using the Adhesive Sheets it makes it so much easier to stick the lettering to the outline. Below is a close up to show the shadow effect.

I have then stamped the sentiment in Versamark and embossed it using White embossing powder and then die cut it using another of the frame dies from the Sending Smiles bundle. Finally a double bow using the Sweet Sorbet In Colour twine and a couple of Daffodil Delight Glossy Dots for a bit of bling.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Michele Taylor. I am sure as always she will create a beautiful card.

If the "next" button link is not working or you would like to see a full list of participants then you can hop over to Cathy Proctor's blog where you can see a full list of tonight's participants.

Don't forget to pop back next week when our feature colour will be the last in our sequence of  the new In Colours, Tahitian Tide.

Stampin' Up! Starry Sky

Welcome to Week 3 of the new Colour Creations Blog Hop for 2022-2023. This week we are featuring another of the new In Colours and this time it is Starry Sky which is a vibrant royal blue colour.

For this week's blog hop I was determined to create a male card as I have a distinct lack of male cards in my stash and there are a couple of male birthday's coming up. I have chosen to pair Starry Sky with Sahara Sand and Cajun Craze.

To start with I embossed a piece of Sahara Sand cardstock using the Gingham embossing folder.Below is a close up to see the effect.

I then die cut some hexagons using the Beautiful Shapes dies in each of the 3 coloured cardstocks and a couple of pieces of the He's the Man DSP. I have also die cut some more of the Starry Sky cardstock using one of the All That Dies. The stars are actually cut outs from one of the He's the Man Specialty Papers. They come in Cajun Craze but they are also white on the reverse so I coloured the back of one of them using a Starry Sky Stampin' Blend. The sentiment is from the Framed Occasions stamp set and has been stamped in Starry Sky. Finally a bow using the Denim ribbon from the Current Mini catalogue which retires at the end of next month. Finally I've added a couple of the In Colour Matte Decorative Dots.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Kate Morgan. I am sure as always she will create a beautiful card.

Stampin' Up! Parakeet Party

Welcome to Week 2 of the new Colour Creations Blog Hop for 2022-2023. This week we are featuring another of the new In Colours and this time it is Parakeet Party which is a vibrant lime green colour.

I have chosen to team up Parakeet Party with a couple of purples, namely Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather and have also decided to show some love to the Art Gallery bundle once again.

I started by stamping one of the flower images using Highland Heather and then stamped the contrast image using Gorgeous Grape. I then die cut this using the corresponding die. The stem and leaf image has been stamped using Parakeet Party and also die cut with the corresponding die. These die cuts have then been propped on a piece of Basic White cardstock that has been embossed using the Painted Texture folder. For a bit of contrast I have also added a Wink of Stella for a highlight on the petals which you can see a bit better in the photo below.

The Basic White panel has also been mounted on a piece of the new In Colour Designer Series Paper. Finally I have added a small bow that has been tied using the new In Colour Bakers Twine and I have added a couple of new In Colour Matt Decorative Dots.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Ros Davidson. I am sure as always she will create a beautiful card.

Stampin' Up! Orchid Oasis

Welcome to a new round of The Art With Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop for the 2022-2023 Stampin' Up! year. With a new Stampin' Up! catalogue comes a new set of In Colours and this year's colours are just beautiful. We are starting this year's round featuring the new In Colours, and this week's colour is the beautiful Orchid Oasis, which is a lovely purple colour.

For my card this week I have teamed Orchid Oasis with Granny Apple Green and White to create a Mother's Day card. Mother's Day here in Australia is this weekend. I have also chosen to use one of the gorgeous new bundles from the new Annual Catalogue, Wisteria Wishes.

It is a bit hard to tell from this photo but my starting point for my card was a piece of the reverse side of one of the pieces from the new Tea Boutique paper pack. I have then topped this with a piece of Basic White cardstock that has been embossed using the Timeworn Type embossing folder. Here is a close up of that. The reason I like it is that gives just a little bit of definition to the white cardstock without being overpowering.

Then on to this I have mounted the flower heads, which look a little bit like Hollyhocks, and the flower stems with the leaves. These have been stamped using Orchid Oasis and Highland Heather for the flowers and Granny Apple Green for the leaves.

The sentiment has been stamped in Orchid Oasis and is from the Celebrating You stamp set. This has then been die cut using one of the dies from the new Stylish Shapes die set. I have also coloured some White Crinkled Seam Binding using the Orchid Oasis Stampin Blends. Finally a few Iridescent Rhinestones for some bling.

I really enjoyed creating this card and having a play with some of the gorgeous new products now available to purchases from the new Annual catalogue. As I lost my dear mother just over a year ago this card is currently winging it's way to my lovely Mother In Law in Queensland.

Next in tonight's blog hop is my dear friend and upline Christine Blain. I am sure as always she will create a beautiful card.

Stampin' Up! So Saffron

Welcome to week 44 of the Art With Heart Colour Creations blog hop for 2022. This week's feature colour is So Saffron, which is a member of the Subtles colour group. So Saffron is a colour that I don't tend to use very much but now that I have had another play with it I'm actually not quite sure why that is.

This week I have decided to finally ink up the Blessings of Home stamp set and teamed So Saffron with Soft Succulent and White.

My starting point for this card was to stamp the largest spray image in Black Memento ink and then colour the image using So Saffron, Soft Succulent and Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends. I then die the image with the corresponding die. I have then mounted this image on a piece of Vellum that has been both die cut using one of the Scalloped Contour dies and then embossed using one of the Meadow Moments embossing folders. I have then mounted this on a piece of DSP from the Heart and Home pack. I have also embossed this using the Tasteful Textile embossing folder as I felt the paper needed a softening a bit i line with the subtle colours of the card. You can see the embossing in more detail in the photo below.

After sponging the edges of the paper I then mounted this on So Saffron cardstock and then on to Soft Succulent and the finally on Basic White. The sentiment is from the Art Gallery stamp set in Soft Succulent and die cut using the corresponding die. Finally for some bling I have added a few In Colour Jewels and a couple of Brushed Brass Butterflies.

Next in tonight's blog hop is our lovely host Cathy Proctor. I look forward to seeing what beautiful creation she has to share with us tonight.

If the "next" button link is not working or you would like to see a full list of participants then you can hop over to Cathy Proctor's blog where you can see a full list of tonight's participants.

Don't forget to pop back to the hop next week when our feature colour with be Soft Sea Foam. At this point I don't think I will be participating in that blog as I will be away for the Easter break but you can always pop over to our host's blog for a look.

Stampin' Up! Smoky Slate

Welcome to week 43 of the Art With Heart Colour Creations blog hop for 2022. This week's feature colour is Smoky Slate, which is a member of the Neutrals colour group.

This week I have 2 cards to share with you that feature Smoky Slate which as the name suggests is a grey colour similar to the colour of slate.

For my first card I have decided to feature the Rainbow of Happiness bundle.

To start with I have randomly stamped some of the raindrop images on a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock. I have then used one of the Basic Border dies that looks like cloud edges to create the appearance of fluffy white clouds on a couple of pieces of Basic White cardstock. I have then embossed these pieces of cardstock using the Splatters embossing folder. I have then die cut a couple of rainbow pieces using some lovely bright colours, Melon Mambo, Mango Melody, Granny Green Apple and Bermuda Bay and placed these to look like they are coming up out of one of the clouds. The sentiment is also from the same stamp set and has been embossed in Silver and then die cut using one of the Ornate Frames dies.. Finally I have added a few Silver Epoxy essentials as raindrops.

For my second card I have CASED the card on page 41 of the current mini catalogue.

For the base of the card I have used a piece of the Symbols of Fortune Designer Series Paper which features, Smoky Slate, Gold and White. I have then adhered a piece of Vellum to the adhesive sheets and then die cut it using one of the Eden dies. By adhering the vellum to the adhesive sheets it makes it much easier to adhere the die cut to the background. I have then die cut some Smoky Slate, Gold foil and Basic White cardstock using one of the other Eden's frames. I have then snipped these to form sprigs. Finally I have stamped the sentiment onto Smoky Slate cardstock using Gold embossing powder and then die cut it using one of the Tailor Made Tags dies. Finally a bow using the Gold Simply Elegant trim and a few Gilded Gems.

Next in tonight's blog hop is  our lovely host Cathy Proctor. I look forward to seeing what beautiful creation she has to share with us tonight.
