Stampin' Up! Pumpkin Pie

This week, week 41 in the Colour Creations blog hop we continue our journey  featuring all of the Core Stampin' Up! colours, in alphabetical order. This week's feature colour  Pumpkin Pie, which is a member of the Regals colour group.

I hate to admit it but Pumpkin Pie is one of my least favourite of the Stampin'Up! colours as well as being one of the colours I use the least. When looking for inspiration for this week I came across the colour combination of Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Crumb Cake. I think it was Brian King who suggested it. I also finally decided to "break open" the Cottage Rose bundle.

The starting point was to colour a piece of the Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper using Stampin Blends in Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Crumb Cake.

The top piece of Crumb Cake cardstock has been die cut using one of the dies from the Cottage Flowers dies and then embossed using one of the NEW Online only Basics Embossing Folders. This is a pack of 3 embossing folders, the crosshatch, dots and lattice which are only available to purchase online for as long as they are available. I have to say I really love this crosshatch one that I have used.

I have then placed the Crumb Cake cardstock over the coloured DSP aligning the cut outs with the coloured flowers.

The sentiment is from Go To Greetings and has been die cut using one of the dies from the Hydrangea dies.

I have added a bow using Linen Thread doubled up.

Continuing my aim for this year I have also embellished the inside of the card. I have coloured and die cut a couple more of the stamps from Cottage Rose and adhered these to a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock that has been die cut using the largest of the Deckled Rectangle dies.

Next in tonight's blog hop is our lovely host Cathy Proctor. I look forward to seeing this week's beautiful creation.

Stampin' Up! Poppy Parade

This week, week 40 in the Colour Creations blog hop we continue our journey  featuring all of the Core Stampin' Up! colours, in alphabetical order. This week's feature colour  Poppy Parade, which is a member of the Brights colour group.

Right from the outset this week I had decided to create a male card for our feature colour this week and to team Poppy Parade with Black, White and Basic Grey. When searching Pinterest for inspiration I came across a card made by Mary Fish and decided to use that as my starting point.

I have cut 1inch strips of both Ready to Ride Specialty Designer Series Paper, from the current mini catalogue, and also Perfectly Penciled DSP from the Annual Catalogue. The Perfectly Penciled paper is only Black and White so I have used Poppy Parade ink and Blending Brushes to colour it.

These strips have then been glued to a piece of Basic White cardstock that has then been embossed using the Metal Plate 3D embossing folder from the mini catalogue. This panel has then been mounted onto a piece of Poppy Parade cardstock and then Basic White.

Before mounting this onto Basic Grey cardstock I have wrapped some Black and White Bakers Twine around the band twice and tied a knot with it.

The sentiment is from the He's All That stamp set and has been stamped in black and then coloured using Poppy Parade and Smokey Slate Stampin Blends. This has been die cut using one of the dies from the coordinating set, All That dies, and then mounted onto Poppy Parade Cardstock that has been die cut using one of the Stylish Shapes dies. Finally I have added a couple of White Classic Matte Dots.

For the inside of the card I have kept it quite plain and simple and just used a couple of the Notepad pieces from the He's The Man Specialty paper.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Fiona Ryan. I look forward to seeing this week's beautiful creation.

Stampin' Up! Pool Party

This week, week 39 in the Colour Creations blog hop we continue our journey  featuring all of the Core Stampin' Up! colours, in alphabetical order. This week's feature colour  Pool Party, which is a member of the Subtles colour group.

Once again this week I have chosen to use the lovely Dandy Designs paper which you can earn during Saleabration when you spend $180, but you need to be quick as the offer ends at the end of February.

I have also used one of the new bundles available from the new Mini catalogue, Sentimental Park, and I have teamed this with some favourites from the Annual Catalogue.

My starting point for the card was to emboss a piece of the Dandy Designs paper using the Splatter folder from the Stripes and Splatters 3D embossing folders.  There is a close up below.

I have then adhered a piece of Basic White cardstock that has been die cut using one of the Split Card Textures dies. Using the adhesive sheets makes adhering this to the card easier.

The "Sending" word has been die cut using Basic White and Pool Party cardstock and then mounted using Dimensionals.

The sentiment is from Amazing Year, from the Annual Catalogue and has been stamped in Pool Party and die cut using one of the dies from the Sentimental Park dies.

The flower sprigs, from the Sentimental Park stamp set have been stamped using Versamark onto Shimmery White cardstock and then embossed in White. I have then coloured the flowers using Pool Party Stampin' Blends. The flower centres are Pool Party Glossy Dots.

The bow has been tied using White Bakers Twine that has been coloured using Pool Party ink and a Blending Brush, just to soften the starkness of the white.

As I mentioned last week, this year I am making a concerted effort to decorate both the inside of the card and the envelope. This time I have made an envelope liner using the same paper which you can see in the first photo.

For the card inside I have stamped a sentiment also from Amazing Year onto a piece of the same paper from Dandy Designs and then die cut it using another die from Sentimental Park dies.

Next in tonight's blog hop is our lovely host Cathy Proctor. I look forward to seeing what she has created for us this week.

Stampin' Up! Polished Pink

Well Hello!. I'm back again after a short but busy festive and holiday break. The time was both happy and sad. Catching up with all of our interstate family members was great but unfortunately on the last day of last year my lovely father in law passed away. A sad time but one to also celebrate his wonderful 93 years of life.  Anyway it's back to Colour Creations Showcase hopping again especailly with some lovely new products to feature.

This week, week 38 in the Colour Creations blog hop we continue our journey  featuring all of the Core Stampin' Up! colours, in alphabetical order. This week's feature colour  Polished Pink, is a member of the 2021-23 In colour group, and is lovely bright pink colour.

This week I have decided to feature some of the beautiful new products available during this years Salebration period as well as some from the current Mini catalogue. There are so many beautiful new products available at the moment and just this morning I have read about more coming next month!

I'm looking at the photo above of my card and it really doesn't show the vividness of the Polished Pink unfortunately.  Polished Pink is quite a bright vivid Pink.

The feature stamp set for my card is the Beautifully Happy stamp set which is available during the current Salebration period which finishes at the end of this month. It is free when you spend $180. I have used it as a two step stamp set, that is stamping the outline in black and then the "filling" in Polished Pink, Pear Pizzazz and Daffodil Delight, but you could also just stamp the outline and then use Stampin'Blends to colour the image.

I have die cut the image using the Stitched Rectangle dies as is the piece of Dainty Designs DSP. The Dainty Designs DSP is another freebie you can earn during Salebration when you spend $180.

I have then mounted these 2 panels onto a piece of White Cardstock that has been embossed using the beautiful Cane Weave 3D embossing folder, from the current Mini catalogue.

The sentiment, also from the Beautifully Happy stamp set, has been stamped in Polished Pink and die cut using one of the Tailor Made Tags dies. I have tied a bow of White Bakers Twine that has been coloured using Polished Pink Stampin' Blends.

Finally I have added a few Loose Flower Flourishes in Polished Pink.

One of my Stampin' Up! resolutions this year is to remember to add some interest to the inside of the card as well. The other one is to maximise the beautiful papers that Stampin' Up! has by creating coordinating envelopes. I think it is so nice for the recipient rather than a plain white envelope. The other benefit is that you don't end of with as much leftover paper when it retires!

Next in tonight's blog hop is our lovely host Cathy Proctor. I look forward to seeing what she has created for us this week.
