Stampin' Up! Early Espresso

This week, is week 22 in the Colour Creations blog hop and this week we continue our journey through the existing Stampin' Up! core colours, working in alphabetical order. This week our feature colour is  Early Espresso, a member of the Neutrals family of colours. Early Espresso  as the name would suggest is a dark brown coffee colour colour.

For my card this week I have used many of the new products from the All About Autumn suite of products from the current mini catalogue. It's a beautiful suite of products featuring Autumn Leaves and the colours , Copper Clay, Very Vanilla and Copper foil to name a few. All of which team beautifully with Early Espresso, this week's feature colour.

The Very Vanilla card base has been embossed using the new embossing folder, Distressed Tile. This has been mounted onto a piece of Early Espresso card.

Two different pieces of the beautiful All About Autumn paper have been die cut using two of the Distressed Circles dies and mounted onto the embossed Very Vanilla panel.

Then a variety of the leaves have been stamped and die cut using Very Vanilla card, Early Espresso and Crumb Cake ink and the Autumn Leaves bundle. A smaller maple leaf has been cut using  Early Espresso card. The veins of the larger leaves along with a couple of the smaller leaves have been die cut using the Oxidized Copper Specialty Designer Series Paper. It makes it much easier to apply the leaf veins by using Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets.

The sentiment from So Sincere has been stamped in Early Espresso onto Very Vanilla card and then die cut using one of the dies from the Autumn Leaves dies.

Finally a bow using (the quite hard to tie) Copper ribbon and a few Neutrals Adhesive Backed Sequins have been added.

Whilst stamping and cutting the various leaves I ended up having an extra so I have used it in the inside of the card. This time using Copper Clay ink and Early Espresso card.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Sharon Davern who loves to share her fancy fold creations with us. I look forward to seeing this week's beautiful creation.

AWH Heart of Christmas Week 8

Welcome to Week 8 of the Art With Heart, Heart of Christmas. This year we will be hopping weekly, so hopefully we can provide you with some festive inspiration. Our host for this year's blog hop is the lovely Sharon Davern.

Lately everywhere I seem to look for ideas for card designs I seem to keep seeing cards made using the Fractured Card Technique so I thought I would give it a go for this week's blog hop. Turns out it is super easy and so I managed to make 2 cards this week which are very similar but in different colours.

For my first card I had decided to use one of the lovely and bright papers from Merry Bold and Bright DSP. The central image is from the online exclusive stamp set So Very Merry and has been coloured using Poppy Parade, Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight Stampin Blends. The sentiment is also from So Very Merry and has been stamped in Poppy Parade.

The image has been punched using the 2 3/8 inch punch and then mounted onto a piece of Poppy Parade card cut using one of the Stylish Shapes dies. This was then mounted onto a piece of Basic White card also die cut using one of the Stylish Shapes dies. On each of the corners of the square a leaf sprig has been stamped and coloured. This has then been adhered to the Merry Bold and Bright paper.

To give the fractured look half inch strips of Poppy Parade card have been cut and placed around the square.

I have then added some Adhesive Backed Glitter Sequins to each corner and the central circle.

For the inside of the card I have added a strip of Poppy Parade card along with a strip of the Merry Bold and Bright paper, mounted onto White card.

For my second card I have used everything the same except the paper used is from Bright and Beautiful, and instead of Poppy Parade it's Blueberry Bushel for this card.

In this case the bird image has been coloured using Blueberry Bushel, Pool Party and Granny Apple Green. The sentiment has been stamped in Blueberry Bushel.

The same idea has been used for the inside of the Blueberry Bushel card, as the Poppy Parade card.

Stampin' Up! Daffodil Delight

This week, is week 21 in the Colour Creations blog hop and this week we continue our journey through the existing Stampin' Up! core colours, working in alphabetical order. This week our feature colour is  Daffodil Delight, a member of the Brights family of colours. Daffodil Delight is a bright sunshiny yellow colour.

This week I had actually decided it was time to finally open up the Zany Zoo bundle and have some fun with it. Unfortunately due to an unforeseen, unplanned and rushed visit to the vet with our youngest dog I had very little time to plan my card for this week. So out came the Annual Catologue for inspiration and so I have actually ended up CASING the card on page 46. It was actually a lot of fun to put together.

The beauty of the Zoo Crew suite of products is that there are dies that match the stamp set but also some of those dies match images on the paper. Which for me is great as it means no fussy cutting.

The central dancing tiger image is one from the the Zoo Crew paper and has been cut using one of the dies from the Zany Zoo bundle. Her tutu has been coloured using Daffodil Delight Stampin blends.

The two singing tortoises are stamped images from the Zany Zoo bundle and die cut using the corresponding dies. Stampin Blends in Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green have been used to add colour.

The stage curtains have been cut from a piece of the Les Shoppes paper using dies from Zany Zoo and the stage backdrop is a reverse side of Zany Zoo paper.

For the stage floor I have cut a piece of Pecan Pie card and embossed it using the Timber Embossing Folder to make it look like a wooden stage floor.

The cute little flowers are also from the Zany Zoo dies and have been cut using Daffodil Delight card. The flower centres are Iridescent Pearls Basic Jewels that have been coloured using Daffodil Delight Stampin Blends.

The sentiment is from the Zany Zoo stamp set but as I only wanted to use the "Celebrate You"words I used the marker to stamp method, using Pecan Pie.

For the inside of the card I couldn't resist using the Zany Zoo dies to cut another cute image from the Zoo Crew paper and I have added the whole sentiment once again using Pecan Pie.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely fancy fold queen Sharon Davern. I look forward to seeing this week's beautiful creation.

AWH Heart Of Christmas Week 7

Welcome to Week 7 of the Art With Heart, Heart of Christmas. This year we will be hopping weekly, so hopefully we can provide you with some festive inspiration. Our host for this year's blog hop is the lovely Sharon Davern.

This week's creation is a blend of products from the Annual catalogue, the new mini and brand new online exclusives, and they all go together so well but that is what you would expect with all of the Stampin' Up! products.

It was actually quite hard to photograph the card this week as there are numerous different "shiny"bits for want of a better word.

The striped background paper is one of the brand new online exclusives from the Shining Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper that features Cherry Cobbler and Mossy Meadow. One side of each sheet has a shiny element to it and the other side is matt Cherry Cobbler designs. The paper I have chosen in this case has shiny Cherry Cobbler elements which hopefully the photo shows them.

The central wreath from Cottage Wreaths has been stamped in Mossy Meadow and die cut using the corresponding die from Country Wreath dies. The berries also from the same stamp set have been stamped in Cherry Cobbler and die cut and then I have added some Red Festive Pearls. The bow at the top of the wreath is also from the same bundle and has been stamped in Cherry Cobbler and then I have applied Wink of Stella liberally.

This has then been mounted onto a piece of Mossy Meadow card that has been embossed using the Fern 3D embossing folder.

To create the sentiment I have used the new stamp set Joy To You and Masking Paper. The top line is in Mossy Meadow and then bottom two in Cherry Cobbler. This has then been die cut using one of the Something Fancy dies and then mounted onto a "reverse" side of Shining Christmas paper.

Since the base of the card is Cherry Cobbler I have added a panel to the inside of the card, using the Countryside Corners bundle and a Cherry Cobbler marker.

Excuse the shadows in the picture but I was running a bit time poor. I have also added a bow to the bottom, stamped in Cherry Cobbler and die cut and then added a little Wink of Stella to it.

Stampin' Up! Crushed Curry

This week, is week 20 in the Colour Creations blog hop and this week we continue our journey through the existing Stampin' Up! core colours, working in alphabetical order. This week our feature colour is  Crushed Curry, a member of the Regals family of colours. Crushed Curry is not a colour I would tend to use very much but when I do I am pleasantly surprised.

For my creation this week I have used the Stampin' Up! Monthly Challenge as the inspiration as this month it's a sketch challenge and one that appealed to me.

I have also chosen to feature the beautiful Inked Botanicals Paper as one of the feature colours is Crushed Curry. The paper along with the stamp set, Inked and Tiled , is part of the Inked Botanicals Suite of products.

Four different papers have been cut and then mounted onto Lost Lagoon card in bow of Linen Thread.the layout as per the sketch above. These have then all been mounted onto a piece of Very Vanilla card and then onto a Crushed Curry card base.

The flower and leaf stems have been cut from Crushed Curry, Calypso Coral and Lost Lagoon card using several of the dies from Meadow dies. They have also been sponged with their corresponding coliurs using sponge daubers. All tied together using a bow of Linen Thread.

The sentiment is also from Inked and Tiled and has been stamped in Calypso Coral on Very Vanilla card and then cut using one of the Something Fancy dies.

Finally a few Brushed Brass Butterflies have been added.

For the inside of the card I have stamped one of the Inked and Tiled images in Calypso Coral on Very Vanilla and added a strip of a different piece of the Inked Botanicals paper.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Cathy Proctor. I look forward to seeing this week's beautiful creation.

AWH Heart of Christmas Week 6

Welcome to Week 6 of the Art With Heart, Heart of Christmas. This year we will be hopping weekly, so hopefully we can provide you with some festive inspiration. Our host for this year's blog hop is the lovely Sharon Davern.

Following on from the last couple of weeks I have continued to play with more of the new products from the September to December mini which are now available for you to purchase. This week I have had fun creating with the new stamp set, Sparkling Snowflakes.

The starting point was to stamp multiple snowflake images using Versamark in each of the sizes onto a piece of O Holy Night paper and then emboss them in Silver. The paper has an ombre effect from Misty Moonlight to Night of Navy. This was then mounted on to a piece of  Snowflake Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper featuring white and silver. This was then mounted onto a piece of Night of Navy cardstock.

The sentiment is from the stamp set Brightest Glow and has been stamped in Night of Navy onto White card. This has then been die cut using one of the Something Fancy dies and then mounted onto a piece of Night of Navy card that has been die cut using one of the Brightest Glow dies. Finally a ribbon tied using Silver and White Sheer ribbon.

As the card base is Navy a lighter and in this case white insert needed to be added. I have also added a sentiment from Brightest Glow stamped in Night of Navy.

Stampin' Up! Crumb Cake

This week, is week 19 in the Colour Creations blog hop and this week we continue our journey through the existing Stampin' Up! core colours, working in alphabetical order. This week our feature colour is  Crumb Cake, a member of the Neutrals family of colours. Crumb Cake is a colour that I use quite often but not as the feature colour so it was somewhat of a challenge.

For my card this week I have chosen to  combine Crumb Cake with one of the newest In Colours, the beautiful Boho Blue, along with a little bit of Early Espresso, Old Olive and of course Basic White. I have also finally"broken out" the Seasonal Branches bundle.

The starting point was to stamp all of the feature images onto white card. The branch in Early Espresso, the leaves in Old Olive and the flowers in Boho Blue. These were then all die cut using their corresponding dies from the Seasonal Branches dies.

The cute little bird was stamped in Early Espresso and then coloured with Crumb Cake an Boho Blue Stampin Blends and die cut.

These were then all mounted onto a piece of white card cut using one of the circular Stylish Shapes dies. This was then mounted onto a piece of what I call the reverse side of one of the pieces of Fresh As A Daisy Designer Series Paper featuring Boho Blue. The photo below shows it in more detail. It has a "wash" of white through it to add to the contrast of it.

The sentiment is also from Seasonal Branches and has been stamped in Early Espresso and die cut using one of the circular dies from Radiating Stitches.

Each of the flower centres has a small Festive Pearl added. Apparently they are supposed to be green but to me they are quite blue especially on the Boho Blue flowers.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely fancy fold queen Sharon Davern. I look forward to seeing this week's beautiful creation.

AWH Heart of Christmas Week 5

Welcome to Week 5 of the Art With Heart, Heart of Christmas. This year we will be hopping weekly, so hopefully we can provide you with some festive inspiration. Our host for this year's blog hop is the lovely Sharon Davern.

Following on from last week I have continued to play with more of the new products from the September to December mini which are available for all to purchase in 2 days time. This week I have had fun creating with the Merriest Trees bundle.

The beautiful background paper is one from the Merry Bold and Bright Designer Series paper pack and features Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce. This has been mounted onto Granny Apple Green card and then onto white.

A piece of White card has then been embossed using the Christmas Tidings Embossing folder. It is a bit hard to see in the photo above but it features all sorts of Festive words. This was then die cut using the largest of the Scalloped Contours dies.

Then the stamping starts. I have then stamped the largest tree from Merriest Trees in Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green, Garden Green and Shaded Spruce. The segments of the trees have then been die cut with the corresponding dies from Merriest Trees dies and layered in colour order with the lightest on the top to the darkest on the bottom.

The tree has then been decorated using the die from the Merriest Trees that looks like all the strings of baubles. This has been done using More Dazzle Specialty paper in Champagne. The star has also been cut in the same manner.

The sentiment is from Brightest Glow and has been embossed in White onto Granny Apple Green card and then die cut using one of the dies from Labels Aglow.

Finally a few Tinsel Gems in Lemon Lime Twist have been added.

As there was a small strip of the paper left rather than waste it, it has been added to the inside of the card along with the greeting from Merriest Trees stamped in Granny Apple Green.

Next on tonight's blog hop is the lovely Catherine Proctor. Click on the button below and it should take you to her blog where you can see her Inspiring Festive creation.
