Stampin' Up! Blackberry Bliss

This week, is week 13 in the Colour Creations blog hop and this week we continue our journey through the existing Stampin' Up! core colours, working in alphabetical order. This week our feature colour is  Blackberry Bliss, a very bold, as the name suggests, Blackberry colour that is a member of the Neutrals colour group, believe it or not!

Whilst scrolling on Pinterest for a colour combination to use this week, I came across one of Brian King's that really appealed to me, Blackberry Bliss, Misty Moonlight and Fresh Freesia.  For the first time in a long time there is also NO stamping on either of the cards I am sharing this week. I am letting the dies do all the "talking".

For my first card I have randomly coloured a piece of Basic White cardstock using Blending Brushes and Blackberry Bliss, Misty Moonlight and Fresh Freesia ink pads. I have then die cut another piece of Basic White cardstock using one of the Gorgeous Garden dies and randomly sponged some of the flower cut outs using Blackberry Bliss.

I have then used Wink Of Stella on each of the seed pods or buds, whichever you chose to call them.

The sentiment has been die cut using the Wanted to Say dies and Blackberry Bliss for the background and Basic White for the script. I have also added some Silver Simply Elegant Trim which I have separated all of the strands and placed them under the sentiment. The bow has been cut using the Holographic Specialty Paper. Finally I have added a couple of the Fresh Freesia Tinsel Gems.

For my second and also "no stamping" card, I have reversed the 2 layers. This time I have sponged a piece of Vellum, still using Blackberry Bliss, Misty Moonlight and Fresh Freesia ink pads and Blending Brushes.

I have used a different sentiment in this card but still from the same set, Wanted to Say. I have also added the Silver Simply Elegant Trim, Wink of Stella and Fresh Freesia Tinsel Gems as in the first card.

When planning these cards it was actually the second version that came to mind first but now I think I actually prefer the first one. What about you?

Next in tonight's blog hop is the lovely Caroline Manwaring.  I look forward to seeing this week's beautiful creation.

Stampin' Up! Berry Burst

This week, is week 12 in the Colour Creations blog hop and this week we continue our journey through the existing Stampin' Up! core colours, working in alphabetical order. This week our feature colour is  Berry Burst, a returning In Colour that has now become a core colour.

Berry Burst is as the name suggests a deep berry colour in particular Raspberry, which teams well with one of the new Core colours, Bubble Bath. I have also teamed it with a couple of greens, Granny Apple Green and Garden Green. I have also decided to ink up the stamp set Darling Details for the first time.

You might notice that I have used the same embossing folder for this week's card as I did last week? I had prepared it for last week but then decided to change the size so I had this piece on my craft desk so decided to make it work for this week.

I have mounted this onto a piece of the Soft Shimmer Specialty paper, in Berry Burst. I have then die cut a piece of the Bright and Beautiful DSP using the largest of the Broderie Anglaise type frame and mounted this onto the White cardstock that has been embossed with one of the 3D Basics folders.

I have then stamped a variety of flowers and leaves using Berry Burst, Bubble Bath, Granny Apple Green and Garden Green. Darling Details is a "Distinktive" stamp, meaning that it is a 2 step process of the "mottled" type background and then an outline stamp. All of the images have been stamped onto White cardstock and the outline in Versamark and then embossed in White. They have then all been die cut using the corresponding dies. I have also added a Wink of Stella to the flower centres.

The sentiment, from Go to Greetings has been stamped onto Berry Burst cardstock and embossed in White and then die cut using the label from Meadow Dies.

Finally I've added a couple of the gorgeous Tinsel Gems Four Pack in Berry Burst.

I've also added another flower, stamped in Berry Burst and Bubble Bath to the inside of the card, along with a couple of leaf sprigs in Granny Apple Green.

Next in tonight's blog hop is our lovely host Cathy Proctor.  I look forward to seeing this week's beautiful creation.

Stampin' Up! Basic Gray

This week, is week 11 in the Colour Creations blog hop and this week we continue our journey through the existing Stampin' Up! core colours, working in alphabetical order. This week our feature colour is  Basic Gray, a bold and dark gray colour that I don't use very often. To me in conjures up ideas of sympathy cards. I have decided to tone down the boldness of Basic Gray by teaming it with Bubble Bath and Berry Burst to create a sympathy card.

To create the card base I firstly randomly stamped off the "splotch" stamp from Irresistible Blooms using Basic Gray. I then embossed the white cardstock using one of the 3D Basics embossing folders.

I have then die cut some Bubble Bath Soft Shimmer paper using the circular die from the Irresistible Blooms dies. This has been mounted onto a piece of Delightfully Eclectic paper featuring Bubble Bath.

For the flowers I have embossed them in white onto both Bubble Bath and Berry Burst cardstock and then die cut them using the corresponding dies.

For the leaves I have used 2 options. The triple leaf has been stamped in Basic Gray onto white cardstock and then die cut. The single leaves have been die cut using Basic Gray cardstock and then "painted"with Wink of Stella to give a lighter look than just the gray cardstock.

The sentiment is from Something Fancy and has been stamped in Basic Gray onto White cardstock and then die cut using one of the Something Fancy dies. I have die cut another piece in Basic Gray to add a border.

Finally I have added a couple of Classic Matte Dots in Basic Gray.

As the inside of the card is quite dark I have added a piece of white cardstock that has been stamped using the colour with Write Marker method in Basic Gray and the Countryside Corner stamp and then die cut with the largest die. As I had a spare flower in Bubble Bath I have added it to the inside as well.

Next in tonight's blog hop is our lovely host  Cathy Proctor.  I look forward to seeing this week's beautiful creation.

Stampin' Up! Balmy Blue

This week, is week 10 in the Colour Creations blog hop and this week we start our journey through the existing Stampin' Up! core colours, working in alphabetical order. This week our feature colour is  Balmy Blue, a lovely soft blue that would be popular for baby boy cards. I on the other hand have chosen otherwise!

My inspiration for this week came from what I would call the reverse side of one of the pieces of Les Shoppes paper which features Balmy Blue, Night of Navy and Calypso Coral and I have to say I really love how these colours work together.

So as I said my starting point was the reverse side of the Les Shoppes paper which I embossed using the Exposed Brick 3D folder. I have then added a band of the Balmy Blue and White Double Stitched ribbon.

The Balmy Blue ring has been made using 2 of the Stylish Shapes dies.

For the foliage I have used  the Timeless Arrangements dies and Balmy Blue, Night of Navy and Calypso Coral cardstock.

The sentiment is also from Timeless Arrangements and has been stamped in Night of Navy and die cut using another of the Timeless Arrangements dies.

This photo shows a close up of the lovely embossing created by the Exposed Brick 3D folder.

Finally I have added a bow using the Balmy Blue and White Double Stitched ribbon and added a few of the Balmy Blue Iridescent Pastel Gems.

Next in tonight's blog hop is my lovely upline and dear friend Christine Blain.  I look forward to seeing this week's beautiful creation.
