Stampin' Up! Basic Gray

Welcome to a Week 9 of the Colour Creations Showcase blog hop. This week we continue our journey through the remaining Stampin' Up! core colours, working in alphabetical order, with this week's feature colour being Basic Gray. Basic Gray is as the name suggests a strong gray colour and a member of the Neutrals Group of colours.

This week the bundle chosen to feature is actually one that I purchased sometime ago but until this week was yet to be inked up. It is the Online Exclusive, Fluffiest Friends, and is super cute. I have always been a fan of oink and gray together so the colours for this week are Basic Gray, Pretty In Pink and Basic White, with a few splashes of Granny Apple Green and Pecan Pie.

The super cute cat has been stamped in Black Memento ink and then coloured using Smoky Slate Stampin Blends as there are no Basic Gray Stampin Blends, along with use of the colour lifter. For the cute nose and the flower, Pretty In Pink blends have been used. This has then been die cut with the corresponding die from the Fluffiest Friends dies and popped up with dimensionals onto a piece of Basic White card that has been die cut using a Deckled Circles die. This white circle has been stamped using the floral stamp from the Fluffiest Friends stamp set and coloured using Stampin Blends. This was then mounted onto a piece of Pretty In Pink card also die cut using Deckled Circles.

Rather than stamping a sentiment this week I have chosen to use the Wanted To Say dies, cutting the letters in Basic White and mounting on an outline using Basic Gray card. I did try reversing this order but it didn't seem to "pop" as much as this option.

The flowers have been die cut using the flowers from the Around The Bend dies and a "reverse" side of one of the papers from Lily Pond Lane. Designer Adhesive Backed Dappled Dots in Pretty In Pink have been added to the flower centres.

Once again this week I have chosen to use a piece of the 6 X 6  Designer Series Paper as the base, but this time the feature colour is Basic Gray. This has then been mounted onto a piece of Basic Gray card and then onto a thick White card.

To add interest to the card inside, more of the flowers have been stamped and coloured like on the front. This time some grass has been added using a die from Fluffiest Friends and Granny Apple Green card.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the talented Sharon Davern. I look forward to seeing her lovely creation this week.

Stampin' Up! Balmy Blue

Welcome to a Week 8 of the Colour Creations Showcase blog hop. This week we continue our journey through the remaining Stampin' Up! core colours, working in alphabetical order, with this week's feature colour being Balmy Blue. Balmy Blue is a soft blue that sits between Pool Party and Azure Afternoon on the colour wheel and is a member of the Subtle group of colours.

This week the bundle that I have chosen, is as they say and oldie but a goodie, Cheerful Daisies. Balmy Blue has been teamed with Misty Moonlight and White.

Each of the daisies have been stamped onto white card using Versamark  and then embossed with white powder. The flower centres have been stamped in Misty Moonlight and the daisy petals coloured using Balmy Blue Stampin Blends. Each of the daisies have then been die cut using the dies from the Cheerful Daisies dies. The foliage has been die cut using Misty Moonlight card.

The daisies have been mounted onto a base where half is a piece of the Balmy Blue Designer Series paper and the other half a piece of white card that has been embossed using the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing folder. Splatters of Misty Moonlight ink have been added to the white side to soften the effect. This was done by flicking the end of a Misty Moonlight marker against the lid.

To highlight the flower centres, Wink of Stella has been used on the Misty Moonlight.

The sentiment, that has been stamped in Misty Moonlight onto white card is from the new bundle Unbounded Love and has also been die cut using one of the dies from the Unbounded Love dies.

Finally a bow using the Balmy Blue Bakers Twine from the Three Colour Pack, and a few Misty Moonlight gems from the the Tinsel Gems Three pack have been added.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the talented Sharon Davern. I look forward to seeing her lovely creation this week.

Stampin' Up! Azure Afternoon

Welcome to a Week 7 of the Colour Creations Showcase blog hop. This week we start our journey through the remaining Stampin' Up! core colours, working in alphabetical order, starting with the vibrant Azure Afternoon. Azure Afternoon is a vivid blue that sits between Balmy Blue and Misty Moonlight on the colour wheel.

This week the bundle that I have chosen to feature is an online exclusive one, Filled With Fun, and the colours I have teamed Azure Afternoon with are Blueberry Bushel and Lemon Lime Twist. Against white this colour combination is lovely and fresh and crisp.

I actually had lots of fun creating this card using stamping and then die cutting. All of the elements of the cart except the flag banner have been stamped in either azure Afternoon, Blueberry Bushel or Lemon Lime Twist. For the flag banner I die cut it using white card and then coloured it alternating Lemon Lime Twist and Azure Afternoon Stampin' Blends. For the balloon strings I adhered the cardstock to Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets before die cutting them to make it easier to stick to the card base.

All of the stamped die cuts have then been adhered to a piece of White card that has been embossed using one of the Basics 3D embossing folders, another online exclusive product.

Unusual for me but I have actually stamped the sentiment directly onto the background. Usually I like to stamp the sentiment onto an additional piece of card and then mount that, just in case it's not quite right.

All of this has then been mounted onto a piece of Azure Afternoon Designer Series Paper.

Blueberry Bushel Tinsel Gems have been added to the wheels and Lemon Lime Twist to the banner on the cart. Azure Afternoon Rainbow Adhesive Backed Dots have been added to the other banner in the right corner.

For the inside of the card I have used one of the stamps meant to be used with the card and masked off the bits that I didn't want, and stamped the cake in Azure Afternoon and coloured some of it using a Lemon Lime Twist Stampin Blend. I had a small strip of the paper used on the outside of the card so it fitted perfectly between the two cakes.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the talented fancy fold queen Sharon Davern. I look forward to seeing her lovely creation this week.

Stampin' Up! Basic Beige

Welcome to a Week 6 of the Colour Creations Showcase blog hop. This week we start our journey through the remaining Stampin' Up! core colours, starting with the new addition to the Basics range, Basic Beige.

This week I thought that many of the other blog hop members might tend to choose the Country Woods suite of products as it is a natural choice to feature Basic Beige, therefore I chose to feature something else although I couldn't resist using one of the Country Lace pieces of paper. Instead though I have chosen to feature the super cute, Cutest Onesie bundle. Basic Beige has been teamed with Petal Pink and Smoky Slate.

The onesie stamp from the Cutest Onesie stamp set has been stamped onto Petal Pink Designer Series Paper in Petal Pink ink. This has then been die cut using the corresponding die. The hanger, for which there is also a die, has been die cut using Smoky Slate card. This has then been hung on a piece of Grey Granite twine from the Baker's Twine Essentials pack.

This has been mounted onto a piece of White card that has been embossed using the Eyelet 3D folder, which has also been die cut using one of the Radiating Stitches dies. A frame using Basic Beige card and another of the Radiating Stitches dies has been added to the outer edge of onesie panel. All of this has been mounted onto a piece of the Country Lace Designer Series Paper.

A heart die cut using another of the Radiating Stitches dies and Basic Beige card has been added to the corner.  A piece of the Basic Beige Bordered Ribbon has been frayed and adhered behind the heart.

The rattle on the lower right hand corner is also from the Cutest Onesie bundle and has been die cut using White card and then the band coloured using a Petal Pink Stampin' Blend.

The cute little duck in the top left hand corner is from the Charming Duck bundle and has also been coloured using Petal Pink Stampin' Blends.

The sentiment is also from the Cutest Onesie stamp set and has been stamped in Smoky Slate onto White card.

Finally a few Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels have been coloured using Petal Pink Stampin' Blends.

Another piece of the Country Lace DSP has been added to the inside of the card along with a white heart using the Radiating Stitches die that has also been stamped with the super cute love heart from the Cutest Onesie stamp set.

Next in tonight's blog hop is the talented fancy fold queen Sharon Davern. I look forward to seeing her lovely creation this week.
